12 oz. bottle poured into a teku glass. 2019 vintage
Pours near black, half inch mocha brown head.
Nose: Wood, smoke, molasses, maple. Good depth, complexity.
Taste: Quite a bit going on. Maple is very prominent as is molasses and the bourbon barrel. Finishes sweet with noticeable alcohol heat. Cinnamon comes through as well as it warms. Flavor profile is classic Avery - intensity and depth are dialed to 11 and you’re gonna have to take your time with it.
Feel: Very full-bodied and rich, medium carbonation

LOOKS: At least a finger of dark, tan, foam atop the dark mocha brew. Looks quite viscous and good in the glass. Thick lacing.
AROMA: Big bourbon, maple, chocolate, and coffee notes. Cinnamon in the background; perfect.
TASTE: Bourbon, maple, and chocolate, with coffee and cinnamon rounding it out.
FEEL: Thick. Coats the palate Good, full level of bright carbonation. Sticky for sure, dry enough on the finish that you need another sip.

Black in color with no penetration to light. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering two thirds of the top. The aroma is of maple syrup, bourbon, and cinnamon. I’m tasting maple syrup, coffee, bourbon, and cinnamon. The mouth is sticky and syrupy.

Pours near black and opaque, with a one inch foamy head with decent retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas of maple, bourbon, cinnamon- at the open but fades some, light roast malt, coffee, chocolate, oak, char, some molasses, light vanilla and figs. Really smells good and tastes just as good. Flavors of bourbon, maple, coffee, chocolate, malt, oak, vanilla, light cinnamon that lingers on the finish, light char and molasses. It’s sweet, and more so as it warms but avoids being cloying. Really smooth for the ABV, a solid full body, well carbonated.
Delicious. All the add- ins are great and so are the barrels that are complimentary, not dominant. Lots of great chocolate notes, too. No doubt, it’s sweet, but I’m good with that. Drinks like it’s half the ABV. Super enjoyable.
