A - Your standard golden ale - nothing too cloudy (or too clear) topped with a white head.

S - Lightly sweet/floral, some savory spices with the expected ale brew aroma. The sweet/floral and savory spice did not overpower each other at all.

T - Lightly creamy ale with some hop profile but not so much the the spice and floral were overpowered.

M - Light creaminess, so nothing overly thick at all. Quite nice on the hot afternoon that I tried it

D - slower than other golden ales but still quite enjoyable. I would definitely buy this one again.

I noticed the the style says Belgian Strong Pale Ale but my bottle says Golden Ale (and this is not what I expect for a strong pale ale) but the label shown matches my bottle. I hope I put this review in the proper spot here.

Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011. Why are always the best beers served near the end of the tasting? Golden to amber colour, this is a Belgian-style golden strong ale, with lovely spicy and fruity notes in both aroma and flavour. Well balanced and not too sweet. Very good.

Pours a hazy deep gold/pale amber producing a single finger frothy, white, shortlived head that fades to islands of foam, leaving some spotty, streaky lace. Aroma is Belgian yeast esters of citrus, pear & apple with a subdued note of clove and an even more faint hint of coriander in a background of light alcohol. Taste is fronted heavy to pie crust, bready malt & citrus with a apple/peach/white grape fruitiness developing & strengthening in the middle quickly followed by yeast, sugary sweetness & spicy hints of pepper, clove & coriander all awash in a light alcohol finish which produces a slightly dry, malty aftertaste which I find to be more intense than is usually found in a Belgian. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yet is a little bit thick & chewy with moderate carbonation, lightly dry & peppery from a combination of carbonation & alcohol spice.

Pours a nice golden color with an off white head. Had to do a bit of a vigorous pour to form a decent sized head. The head stays around for some time, leaving some lacing on the sides of the glass.

The smell wasn't very strong to me. Mainly sweet like honey, with some bread from the yeast.

Starts out a bit fruity, mainly pear with a hint of citrus. There is pepper spice as well, and leaves a hop bitterness in the aftertaste. No hint of the alcohol at all.

Smooth feel going down, hardly any tongue tingling from the carbonation.

A pretty good beer, but not a great one. There is a bit of a Belgian character here, but the amount of hops takes a bit away from that. Still, for the price it is a pretty good beer, easily worth what I paid for it.

On tap at Hop City, Birmingham.

A: An clear burnt gold with half finger off-white head that lingered.

S: Honey, cloves, Belgian yeast, bready malts.

T: Sweet honey mingled with Belgian yeast, cloves and bready malts. A slice of banana in the mix, too.

M: Low to medium with medium, creamy carbonation.

O: This was recommended and I'm glad to try it. A soothing summer sipper that sweetens the soul.

This was unexpected surprise that I will be keeping in my refrigerator regularly! Aroma is honey, fruity and a bit of alcohol/ boozy. On first sip it lead with a strong honey with light citrus undertones and a sweet hoppy finish, very clean and fresh, with a slight boozy bitterness. It continues with light florals citrus and barely artificial banana. The end has very little alcohol burn and is very sweet with brown sugar, baked dark bread. Very good beer!
