Pours a light fizzy bubbly head that fades semi quickly, darker toasted auburn brown color but very clear
Nose tons of oude bruin like souring, bacteria lacto perhaps pedio but maybe not, Brett funk sourness, sweet brown malts and barleywine-ish level sweet candy malts, soured malts too, creamy lacto funk, mild toasted buttery oak, and a touch of vinous wine even.
Taste is quite sour, big acidity, malt vinegar, more sweet like candy malts and barleywine-esque maltiness, a bit of soured candy, again more bacteria sourness, lacto creamy sourness, and Brett funk as well, maybe more bacteria, mild buttery oak, and a touch of vinous wine but hard to get much, wish I had one fresh to compare. Finishes a bit flemmy but surprisingly not much, more acidity, and funk lingering.
Mouth is med bod, very acidic and only a little flemmy, touch of booze, decent carb
Overall not bad, an interesting oude bruin like sour with sweet malts on top of big souring, surprisingly not very flemmy, and touches of wine barrel which I wish was more and probably was when it was fresh.

Reviewed from notes taken in 2013 at the Churchill's Pub anniversary party.
2010 vintage. Cost was $10 per 10oz on-draught at Churchill's. 10.75% ABV.
APPEARANCE: No head at all. No floater cap either. No lacing.
Body is a fairly vibrant amber colour. No yeast/lees are visible within. Nontransparent; nontranslucent.
AROMA: Light tart sourness; extremely restrained. Light amber malts. Vague fruit.
Honestly, it's so reticent I can barely isolate or identify any notes with my long-broken nose. An optimist might call the aroma "delicate."
TASTE & TEXTURE: Juicy bright fruit, amber malts. Superb sourness/wild flavours, bringing bacteria and wild yeast into the mix. Smacks of cherry. I love its tart fruit emphasis, part of which I assume was lent to it by the wine barrel.
Very lactic; I definitely get lactobacillus bacteria more than pediococcus.
Has a lovely presence on the palate and is nicely balanced. Well-built for the style, though the wine barrel aging could have lent more to the flavour profile to nitpick...ideally more jamminess in terms of fruit and more acidity/acetic acid.
Tasty and expressive, wtih good depth of flavour.
Smacky from the sourness and luscious on the palate. Smooth and wet. Carbonation is practically perfect. Suits the tasty well, accentuating the tart fruit with its smacky twangy and slightly acidic feel.
OVERAL:: Highly drinkable fare, disguising its ABV dangerously well. I could drink this all night. In short, it's excellent. Another fine sour from Avery, and one I'd love to revisit in a less busy crowded environment so I could better articulate its strengths.
B+ (3.83) / VERY GOOD

Came out an amber color with almost no head to it. Aroma was very minorly tart, a 2 on the 1-10 scale. Acetic acid like vinegar notes. Some floral cheese arrangement came with it.
Taste again, the sour notes were muted, 2.5 on the 1-10 scale, was carrying more of a flanders like profile almost. Earthy and floral. Still had some gym sock funk.
Avery has done good things with their barrel program in regards to tweak and Uncle Jacob's, but their wild series has always been underwhelming to me, this one being no different.
