Thanks to rudzud

Light fizzy head, touch of dot lacing, hazy brown auburn color.

Nose tart berry funk, raspberry syrup and acidity, fresh berry, little vinous funk, some alcohol, creamy raspberry ice cream.

Taste brings sweet candy syrup, raspberry candy syrup, generic tart berry and sour raspberry, fair sourness, with candy sweet sugar, and a little flemmy funk, little wheat malt, mild reddish malt, mild phenols, touch warming booze. Little bitter seed, semi sweet sticky finish flemmy acidic funk and big raspberry with some funk.

Mouth is med bod, little carb.

Overall nice raspberry, tart and light funk, very little cab barrel, feels like it's dropped off from what it was at one point.

Dark Amber color with zero head.

Tart cherry and fruity vinegar with a touch of oak.

Big influence from the Cabernet barrels and finishes with a beautiful red raspberry and light vinegar. Wonderfully complex with tart cherry character, spice and very tart green apples.

Light in body with a vinous mouthfeel. Such an easy sipper. It would be easy to put down a couple of these. The alcohol is well hidden with just a hint oh heat.

Appearance: pours a deep reddish brown. a finger or just more of a tannish head with strong retention and leaving behind a pretty solid lacing. hazy and opaque but some brightness around the edges.

Smell: strong tart cherry to raspberry. spicy red wine influence along with oak and some wild yeast. ends with some fruity vinegar.

Taste: opens up with a juicy cherry. fruit flavor really opens up with some raspberries and possibly some blueberry. huge red wine influence filters in with spicy and oaky red grapes. strong tart green apple skin, along with some green apple flesh. ends with a very fruity vinegar taste.

Mouthfeel: strong dryness, along with quite a bit of acidity. tartness is slightly puckering.

Overall: probably not ideal that I am drinking this one at 2+ years old but I really like it. huge complexity and such a strong fruitiness really makes this a great beer.

Bottle dated 9/2012, consumed 12/2014. Deep burgundy color, wispy head that forms a ring around the outside of the tulip shaped glass. Aroma of oak with a lesser amount of caramel. Very tart, sour berries, some oak, particularly in the middle. Despite the tartness, there's enough sugar up front to keep it from being unbalanced. May have lost some fullness over the past year. Plenty of carbonation, even after 2 years. Light body.
