Pours palle straw yellow with very small white head. Lacing is good and lasts. Very hazy. Nearly opaque. Very mild on the nose with nothing leading the way. Taste is banana and bubblegum. Some say it is innate to the style but I think not. A definite turn off for me. Thin watery on the palate with some crispness. The bubblegum is off the scale. Nice try but a poor example of the style.

A - Full cloudy body, mostly yellow, but with orange highlights, and a thin white head and tight line lacing.

S - Typical funky wheat nose, with a bit of bubble gum and banana.

T - Open is slightly sour, the bread notes come through quickly, with highlights of sugar and bananas, then a more sour note down the middle and through the close. A hint of cracker lingers, generating a long fade.

M - Brisk open, a bit sticky in the middle which fades but continues through the long close.

O - Decent but not anything extraordinary. A strong bread and cracker note, a bit of spice and yeast ester, and you have a pleasant but not particularly insightful witbier.

Four day old growler, filled from the bottom, capped on foam. Bell's wheat beer glass.

A: hazy gold with one finger white head that fades to a thin cap pretty quickly. Loads of carbonation streaming up. Very nice lacing. Very pretty beer to look at.

S: it's straight out of the fridge, so I'm not getting much. Muted wheaty aroma; some faint citrus. Not getting the spice and fruit this is supposed to be famous for. After it warms up, it is a totally different animal. Lots of yeasty and phenolic goodness, with coriander peeking out here and there, and a bold but vague sweet tartness in the background.

T: arrives light, crisp, and clean; much cleaner on the initial arrival than some witbiers I've had before; then transitions into the more familiar wheaty flavor, followed by a punch of citrus peel; not overwhelming, but for a light style, it is noticeable. That citrus transitions to a slightly funky note, which leads into a funky and grassy finish. Could be my growler wasn't "beer clean." That weird funky flavor lingers; not truly a phenolic taste; only slightly; really it is more yeasty than anything. I have crushed some coriander and smelled it, and the funky lingering taste is very similar. Perhaps that is intentional.

M: light, crisp and refreshing. Not as slick as some witbiers I've had; really crisp with loads of tiny bubble carbonation.

O: a light, crisp and refreshing witbier, possibly the crispest and cleanest I've had. It didn't deliver on the citrus or spice I expected; it was kind of tame. Except that 5.6 for a witbier strikes me as high, and that was completely hidden. The discordant funky note on the end I chalk up to a not totally clean growler. I'll have to revisit it canned sometime. Still like it better than most Hefeweizens.

The appearance was somewhat hazy yet slightly clear yellow colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies at a nice pace leaving some nice foamy clingy lacing in its wake, carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace. The smell was spices (mostly coriander) are up front with a nice backing by the citrus, banana and yeast that gives a nice bready sort of background. The taste was mainly spicy first, but a nice bready sort of citrus balancing into a crisp flavoring, spicy aftertaste, dry yet crisp finish. On the palate, it sat light, sessionable - check!, carbonation is slightly sharp but still good for the style and for me. Overall, great witbier, Good job Avery.

Good for a Belgian white. Very cloudy, pale straw color. Smell is citrus. Orange and coriander spice taste, but fairly mild. No bite on the feel, the citrus and spice are tame on the tongue. Nice, I like it, BUT priced higher than some similar beers... as with everything from Avery

I'm not a Belgian brew guy but this I like. Mainly because its light, mildly spiced, carbonated. So mild it goes down easy. A good warm weatjer brew.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter via a friend from work---again, Thanks Kevin.
This old easy drinking stand by pours a lemon hazed lightly cloudy yellow with
a nice head of white foam that subsides to a thick ring and thin layer with nice
sudsy lacing. Nose of subtle lemon zest, light coriander, and soft wheat malt notes.
Flavors exceed the nose with lemon zest and soft wheat notes balanced with light
coriander and subtle clove notes awash in sweet honey malt notes. Nice mouth feel;
medium body, medium light carbonation, and a lightly tart subtly dry finish.

Overall, a solid wit that is worthy of your next BBQ.

Cheers

White Rascal has a thin, white head, an opaque, yellow-gold appearance, racing, tight bubbles, and minimal glass lacing. Aroma is of sweet white bread and a trace of citrus. Taste is of sugar, white bread, spices, citrus, banana, bubble gum, and wheat malt. Mouthfeel is high medium to low heavy, and White Rascal finishes medium wet.

Number 100! Started rating beers on this site in December 2016 (4 months) I saved this one for 100. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head some lacing. This is a witbier like Blue Moon my favorite session beer. Has the smell and taste of citrus and spice like a witbier. While not as good as Blue Moon it's a very good beer.
