I've been a fan of Maharaja for a while, in fact it was the first Imperial IPA that I ever had. So when I had the opportunity to visit Boulder Avery was my first stop. I drove right to the brewery and made it just in time for the brewery tour. There were about 10-15 people on the tour, which for a Wednesday I thought was pretty decent, along with another 10-15 hanging out in the tasting room. Everyone was very friendly, and the person doing the door was both knowledgeable and had some fun facts while on the tour. Back at the tasting room, they have cooler with bottles, and around 10 drafts or so, some regular, some a little off the norm like a dry hopped IPA, but while I was there nothing super special or one off. If you're in Boulder, I'd certainly visit. When I was there, they were not selling food, but sounds like maybe they are now.

Avery's always been a bit of a sleeper brewery for me - you know they're there, and you know they're good, but they just don't seem to get the hype that many lesser breweries seem to get. I made my third visit to Avery on August 14 and my respect for this place has gone up every time. They've got an upstairs restaurant with great food, a downstairs taproom, and a large outdoor seating area - they can handle a huge crowd here and yet they've been close to full all three times I've been. Perhaps the most impressive thing about Avery is how many styles they do really well - hoppy beers, Belgians, and sours are all top notch, not too mention a stout lineup that I'd put up against any brewery on the planet. The tap wall contains 30-ish selections with their common stuff along with tap room only selections. All-in-all this place is easily on my top 5 beer destinations list!

This is a must stop in Colorado. While not all their beers will appeal to everyone, they have a fabulous ever changing selection that is high quality. Extra bonus is that their food is some of the best you could find at a brewery.
