Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.20%

Notes / Commercial Description:
This smooth, medium bodied American IPA will hit the spot. The intense citrus/pine aroma and taste is accompanied with a slight hit of caramel. After a huge dry hopping, one whiff of this guy will have you breaking out that old tie-dye and throwing on a best-of album. - Relive, enjoy

The art on the can looked cool and Savannah is a really fun town, but this was a huge disappointment. Too sweet, off flavor, heavy, prominent caramel malt, strong aftertaste, not particularly bitter, almost flat, hard to pinpoint, but just not right for a craft IPA, reminded me of my Icehouse days. Yuck.

I'm trying this in Hilton Head. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent was bland with slight tropical fruit presence. The taste was bitter through with citrus being the main contributor. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its ok.

12 oz can "LIFES A TRIP HEAD SOUTHBOUND" stamped on the bottom

Pours hazed typical amber, lasting khaki cap, that eventually leaves a thick, froth collar and bands of thicker lacing.

Mild citric nose with some bready mixed in

Crisp and light, medium citric, with a bready back note. Easy drinking, and enjoyable, but nothing super special going on here.

Nose of pine, biscuit, malt, caramel, faint floral, cereal, medium carbo. Taste pine, zest, caramel, bready malt, hint herbs, medium body, slight sweet bitter finish.

"280 LIFES A TRIP HEAD SOUTHBOUND" imprinted on the bottom of the 12oz can. No idea what this means, doubtful it indicates any bottling date. Poured into a 16oz pint glass. Pours clear and a dark amber color with a solid white head of decent size and consistency.

Not a bad little beer. Kind of malt heavy for an IPA, but this could be due to it being a little aged, but who knows. No dating makes this a moot point for authenticity sake. Aroma is slightly hoppy with a solid malt backbone and a hint of alcohol.

Drinkability is slightly lower than other IPAs due to the sweetness and lack of hops with malt heavy flavors. Not a favorite of mine, but no major flaws.
