On tap at Two Brothers tavern. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated immediately. The smell started off with a burst of sweet cherries followed by some sweet apples, light apricots, and then a light citrus to gently run into a smooth caramel. The taste was mainly sweet and barely carried any bitterness about it. A lingering semi-sweet aftertaste leads to a quick wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt pretty good as an AIPA and it brings about decent bitterness to hit the tongue. Overall, I say this was interesting, as it had a sweet nose and taste but carried the typical palate of an AIPA.

Screw-cap growler filled at the brewery.

First imperial pint glass pours with a 1/4" beige head, over the cloudy dark amber brew. Head falls to a skim pretty quick, big bubbles around the rim, with coating lace. Aroma is sweet with citrus.

Taste starts with a peek of sweet, tangerine in the center, pine bitterness comes on through the close, and lingers. Mouthfeel is smooth, and drinkability is good. Not quite all I remembered from the taste at the brewery, but an enjoyable ipa.

IPA? Reads more like a Scottish 60 shilling ale. I'll take it.

On tap at the source.

A-Supernova pours a mildly hazy yellowy orange hue.

S-I read that they are constantly changing the hops used. This one I remember had Sorachi Ace hops and I became excited. I absolutely love the unique aroma and flavor Sorachi Ace hops bring forth, I forget the other hops used but I will say that this was loaded with the lemony, herbal, nearly minty Sorachi Ace hops. The other hops brought some more traditional citrus to the mix.

T-Sorachi Ace all over my mouth. I almost always love beers with this hop in it. This was another one I loved. Lemony, minty, herbal and grassy with some grapefruit and pine to accompany. Some softer caramel and bread crust malt.

M-Dry, moderate bitterness. Didn't pick up much booze.

O-My favorite Drop-In brew I tried during my stay there. I actually filled a half growler of this Supernova. Well done.
