You really can't beat a bottle shop that carries all of the most recent releases, and lets you pick cans/bottles off of them to create your own 4/6-pack. The better whisky they carry is priced pretty aggressively, but that tends to be the norm nowadays, so it's not much of a knock on them. Even if the really rare beer they just posted on social media is sold out by the time I get over there, I've never left unsatisfied due to their great selection, and knowledge of everything!

North Center's craft beer, fine wine and spirit shop. They hold frequent tastings. You can build your own mixed six pack from anything in the store. They have over 800 beers, 250 wines and 150 spirits to choose from.

This place is neat, clean and bright. That immediately puts it ahead of about half the stores out there. It is well organized by state and then by brewery.
Service was friendly and helpful without being obtrusive.
The quality is top-notch. Most, if not all, of the IPA's seem to be quite fresh. A few were just days old.
Great selection, especially with local beers. Mostly room temp shelving with a smaller cooler. Nice selection of singles for mix-a-six.
Prices are a touch high but about in line for such a shop.
Excellent bottle shop.

One of the absolute best beer stores in Chicago, for sure. When the store owner or one of the employees is always glad to answer any questions you may have over a beer, do tasting events often upon many of my visits here, or even is willing in most cases to substitute a beer not in the create your own 4 or 6 pack area that's in the regular shelving part of this store into a CYO 4 or 6 pack, that means a DARN lot to me how much they'll go out of the way to satisfy their customers.
And the way they do a random ticket raffle for their Goose Island Bourbon County Stout release rather than having to camp out FOREVER late some night and early some morning till a store opens, is another plus. Hope this store never changes a thing, since it is an amazing store as it is! There are some wine and spirits/liqueur options they sell too, but since I don't drink those as often as I do beer, I can't comment on how good those sections are.

Great little bottle shop. Good selection, helpful staff and eclectic offerings that the bigger stores don't stock.
Limited / special releases tend to get held and they do an event / release at a time when more people can make it which is nice too (rather than selling mid week to the truck chasers).

Fair bottle shop. Not the greatest service, but decent selection. Gets picked over quickly.
If you ranked Chicago bottle shops they would be in the 8-16 range.
