I heard about this brewery over a slice of pizza and a pint at Parker Pie. 'Tender said they were doing great stuff out of a garage. The appearance is a hazy brassy orange with a solid 2 finger head. Some thin lacing and a nice bit of visible carbonation. The smell is grapefruit and mango and very dank. The taste follows the nose with a solid pine resin coming thru. Very nice finish and medium mouthfeel with a great tingle on the tongue. Very impressed, not a "Heady" clone, but in the same vein. I could drink this every day.
Cheers

Grateful Hands Brewing - Contentment, poured into a DFH Spiegelau IPA glass.
Look - Pours a cloudy orange amber with a massive soapy head that sticks around. Abundance of lacing. Perfect.
Smell - Juicy citrus with resiny tartness on top. Mouth watering. Touch of pine.
Taste - Rich caramel malt is blasted out of the way by an absolutely phenomenal grapefruit kick. Finishes piney bitter.
Mouthfeel - Rests a fading bitter. Slight malty warmth. Towards full bodied with low carbonation. Great drinkability.
Overall - Wow, another stellar brew comes out of the woodwork in Vermont. This certainly lives up to our standards up here. A true hop heads brew with a powerful onslaught of citrus and pine. Definitely worth finding this one.

A-Hazy golden yellow with a decent white head that dissipates to a healthy ring around the glass with a small amount of lacing.
S-Citrus dry-hops, some piney-ness
T-Well balanced, tropical fruit hop flavor up front, some bitterness towards the end but very subtle, noticeable 8% abv
M-Smooth, full DIPA that is not watery
O-Contentment well describes my feelings towards this purchase

Poured into a tulip glass.
Smell - Very citrusy, tropical flavors. A lot of hops. Smells amazing.
Appearance - Pours a golden color with a slight orange tint. Very little head that dissolves quickly. Bottle seemed to open pretty easily.
Taste - Amazing flavor. Tons of tropical fruits, including mango and pineapple. Slight hints of pine. A nice bready malt to balance the onslaught of hops.
Mouthfeel - Very smooth, but very little carbonation. Good bitterness that sticks to the mouth.
Overall - An amazing offering from another VT brewery. Well done Grateful Hands. This is definitely one I will continue to purchase. An overall fantastic beer.

Enjoyed this Contentment from Grateful Hands poured from bottle into a snifter glass.
Pours a light amber and with a nice head, 1 1/2 fingers high with very nice lacing.
Smell is very aromatic, good hoppy citrus aromas, tropical fruit.
Taste is initially quite bitter, with hoppy fruit trying to come to the front.
Further sips brings the tropical fruit flavors forward and the bitterness relaxes a bit.
A bit forward with the alcohol as well.
Mouthfeel was a bit thin with excellent carb bubbles on the tongue.
This was my first beer from Grateful Hands and I was impressed.
I enjoyed the beer very much, but it was a bit of a struggle to get past the initial blast of bitterness.
Overall, a very well made Double IPA.

There are a number of skilled craft brewers in Vermont, and more emerging all the time (32 new breweries slated to open in VT over the next handful of months). Grateful Hands is one of the new contenders, and their IIPA offering called "Contentment" has been on the local shelves for a few months now.
NOTE: The label says "Small Batch Dark Ales" but this is NOT a "dark ale," but a classic Vermont style IIPA all the way. Don't let the label throw you off.
Pours a cloudy apricot,1 finger of soft white head reduces to a slight cap, excellent lacing.
Aroma is standout, and represents itself as an assertive hop forward assault on the nostrils. Very juicy ripe mango, grapefruit, tangerine and nectarine with some piney and herbal tones make your mouth water in anticipation. The nose is top notch all the way.
Whatever malt is used is strictly to support the hops, and lies low in the mix.
Taste is a good reflection of the snappy aroma, this is a hop bomb, and a juicy one at that.
The tropical flavors mix nicely with the 8% abv, and the finish is dry as a bone leaving that bitterness to linger while you ponder the next sip.
Nice mouthfeel, slightly oily hop resins linger about,on the lighter side of medium for a IIPA, but not a detractor, this is a solid brew.
Simply a great Imperial IPA that delivers the goods in royal fashion, and all at the price of $6.99 for a 22 oz. bomber, which is a solid deal for the quality in every respect. I've paid twice the price for half the quality: put this one on your list to try, you will not be disappointed at all, in fact you will be quite pleased!

Pours a nice blonde color with an amber hue and two-finger head into my glass. I hope it tastes good as good as it looks.
Lots of citrus notes, especially mango and grapefruit. Wakes up my nose and my mind as well. It keeps with the trend of DIPAs using citrusy hops.
Surprisingly light and crisp with a good dose of mango, grapefruit and just a touch of pine. Chewy biscuity malt background.
Finishes very clean with little if any alcohol warmth. I think the body is lacking a bit, though this does not detract from the overall experience.
They nailed this one. In terms of comparison, this would be the little brother to Heady Topper and cousin to Double Sunshine. I really like it!
