Not much going on here. Expected more of a splash from a "newcomer" than this tame mediocrity.

Can poured into glass. Local purchase.
S- muted scent, had a bit of skunk at first that disappeared after a few minutes, muted floral hops scent remaining. A little citrus as the beer warms up.
T- yikes, this can has a bit of a strange flavor. Hard to describe but it's somewhere between aluminum and ammonia. There is something off with the production here. Definite chemical flavor that should not be there.
F- thin for a beer of this alcohol content.
O- I will try again next year when hopefully they have ironed out whatever the problem is with production. I like to support the local breweries so I won't give up hope; the Snow Hole from Stony Creek I have liked very much in the past, as well as the Crumb. This is one to avoid for the near future.

Clear honey colored with a low head of white foam that disappears quickly. Aroma so low that I can't pick up anything. Flavors of hop bitters, more bitter than flavorful, but notes of pine and grapefruit pith come through. Balanced well with honey malt, but not much complexity of flavor. Watery and thin mouthfeel. Average beer.

Impressive, rocky head that settles very slowly. Leaves large 3D chunks of lace. The liquid is orange-amber color and very cloudy.

First impression is of a refrigerator-like smell, almost like stale ice. There's a mild floral hop touch. Light earthiness.

The taste is definitely off. At first, I thought it was a strong yeast bite, but I think it's closer oxidized home brew (i.e. stored way too long). Almost undrinkable. Light body with an above average carbonation level. The aftertaste is long and quite unpleasant.

I salute the effort behind it but it def falls short. It tastes like I'm eating a bad fruit.

L: Appropriate cloudiness.

S: Nothing to note here.

T: Despite this being a fresh can, it tasted oxidized and like the candy shell of an orange tootsie pop.

F: Good level of carbonation. Appropriate thickness for the ABV and style.

O: Stony Creek has better beers.

Mellow flavor, low bitterness upfront but bitterness appears late and stays stays stays around for a long while.

Despite being exceptionally fresh, canned 7/1, there was nothing pushing boundaries here. I only wish the can hadn't promised me the tropical notes with hints of pepper that led me to the cash register. Oh well, glad to support local brewing.

A- The can releases a slightly cloudy deep golden, almost orange, brew into my tulip glass. A thick and foamy white head ascends up to a finger and retains well. A thick blanket of lace at the top and plentiful webs below that.

S- An aroma of light-medium strength where citrus hops are far and beyond the main thing showcased with hints of lemon and grapefruit rind; they do not approach pungent and fade somewhat quickly. Hints of spicy and fruity hops beyond that next to slight sweet malts.

T- As noted above the citrus hops manifest themselves in the forefront of the experience but here the malts and other hop notes become more pronounced. Less-than-bright orange rind and ruby red grapefruit off the top as the crackery, lightly caramelized grains form a base that does cause some interference with the perception of the hops. Grassy, spicy, herbal, floral, biscuit and tropical hints come to mind as well.

MF- The texture is mainly creamy but it falls of and does not really reach chewy. Light-medium overall thickness and a high level of carbonation. Finishes with a gripping citrus rind bitterness.

Certainly nothing really wrong with a brew like this as oranges and grapefruit rind lay atop medium malts and sweetness. Just comes off as a bit dull especially comparing it to the top notch IPAs of today.

Falls under the category of very nice place with moderate to mediocre beer.

They are new so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Golden straw, foamy head, aroma has sweet malts in the forefront. Citrus is the only hop characteristic I smell.

Smooth and crisp, would be an easy drinker. Nothing major off, but nothing bringing me back form more.
