Slightly floral smell and taste. Average feel. Color was light orange. Decent ipa, wouldn't go out of my way to find it but worth a try if you haven't had it. Would try it again but nothing other than average.

Impressive, rocky head that settles very slowly. Leaves large 3D chunks of lace. The liquid is orange-amber color and very cloudy.

First impression is of a refrigerator-like smell, almost like stale ice. There's a mild floral hop touch. Light earthiness.

The taste is definitely off. At first, I thought it was a strong yeast bite, but I think it's closer oxidized home brew (i.e. stored way too long). Almost undrinkable. Light body with an above average carbonation level. The aftertaste is long and quite unpleasant.

Poured from 12 oz can into a clear glass tulip. Canned on 07/07/16 on bottom of can.

A: Light amber with 1-2 finger off-white frothy head with good retention and spotty lacing all the way down the glass.

S: Heavy caramel and woody aromas with some grapefruit

T: Flavor is also woody and herbal with a lot of hop resin but not a lot of bright hop character. Caramel is medium or more and I think weighs this beer down. Moderate to high bitterness for 68 IBU. Very light alcohol bitterness.

M: Sticky-tacky with medium body and moderate carbonation, again hurt byt hte hefty caramel character.

O: Not all that enjoyable -- not looking forward to the other 3 Double Cranky IPAs I have left.

From the 12 fl. oz. can. Sampled on August 23, 2016.

The pour is golden-yellow under a tremendous white foamy heady that eventually settles back. Good clarity.

The aroma is white bread, sour dough, grass, herbs, and a touch of citrus. But everything is muted.

Medium body but quite smooth and lovely on the tongue.

The taste tends to highlight the white breaded malt notes rather than the hops but the hops are more herbal than anything.

A- The can releases a slightly cloudy deep golden, almost orange, brew into my tulip glass. A thick and foamy white head ascends up to a finger and retains well. A thick blanket of lace at the top and plentiful webs below that.

S- An aroma of light-medium strength where citrus hops are far and beyond the main thing showcased with hints of lemon and grapefruit rind; they do not approach pungent and fade somewhat quickly. Hints of spicy and fruity hops beyond that next to slight sweet malts.

T- As noted above the citrus hops manifest themselves in the forefront of the experience but here the malts and other hop notes become more pronounced. Less-than-bright orange rind and ruby red grapefruit off the top as the crackery, lightly caramelized grains form a base that does cause some interference with the perception of the hops. Grassy, spicy, herbal, floral, biscuit and tropical hints come to mind as well.

MF- The texture is mainly creamy but it falls of and does not really reach chewy. Light-medium overall thickness and a high level of carbonation. Finishes with a gripping citrus rind bitterness.

Certainly nothing really wrong with a brew like this as oranges and grapefruit rind lay atop medium malts and sweetness. Just comes off as a bit dull especially comparing it to the top notch IPAs of today.

appearance- Orange amber in color, cloudy, and pours a foamy two finger head.

aroma- Citrus, mango, and pineapple.

taste- Citrus hops upfront with a little bitterness. Jucier hops follow with orange and mango, and a cracker malt providing a creamy yet clean finish.

feel- Medium bodied, medium carbonation, creamy/soft texture, and a clean overall feel.

overall- Very solid beer all around with good flavor and a great feel. Definitely would have this again, but it doesn't quite pack the punch I'm looking for in an IPA. If the flavor could be pushed up a notch this would be great beer given the quality of the texture/feel.

12oz can served in a pint glass
Great orange gold color with a nice frothy off white head that falls slowly. The smell is a strong dose of caramel malts along with a multilayered hop experience with notes of grass, spice, pine and a bit of citrus all apparent. Tinglingly bitter yet the hop flavors are a bit restrained as the spicy and piney are the only two that really come through. The base is solid but really not sweet at all as the hops are the focus. Overall this is fairly dry and a little on the bitter side the relatively high alcohol is nicely masked making it quite drinkable. Overall this is a new favorite of mine from another great local brewery!

Pours a hazy orange with a very small, white head. The smell is strong on citrus, as is the taste. One can notice the hop profile in this beer, as the citrus is balanced with heavy hop tastes.
