Pours clear and on the darker side of amber, small white head. Aroma of some sweet malts, not too strong. Flavor is pretty light and clean, touch of spice at the end, mostly caramel sweetness from the aforementioned malt bill. Feels about right for the ABV, touching into medium body territory. Overall a pretty decent amber lager like Yuengling but with a bit more flavor.

They nailed the look of an amber ale, I will give Stony Creek that. Somebody has been studying their BJCP srm guidelines. On the lower end of the scale in terms of ABV I wouldn't necessarily advocate for sessioning this beer but a couple of pints won't slow you down. There's a subtle breadiness to the malts here, thank you for not trying to dry hop the shit out of this like everyone and their home brewing uncle is doing. A bit of wheat bread crust, toasted for a spell. Mouthfeel wise I think it could be made just a touch more mouth coating, it has an aqueous quality which I would prefer to see toned down a hair.

On-tap 5/15/2016 at Flynn’s in Mansfield, MA, served in a tapered pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep golden brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, honey, fruit, lager yeast and some hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of honey, fruit and caramel. Then some breadiness comes in from lager yeast and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

Moderate head, settles quickly leaving only a few spots for lace. The color is darker amber, nearly brown. Clear.

Smells like a toasted malt amber except for the perfume and sugar presence.

Semisweet and yet deeply roasted malt start. Both rich and highly carbonated. Warming swallow with just a touch of bitterness. Short aftertaste except for the warmth on the throat.
