Pours a two-finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Pine hops nose and flavor is nice balance of malt and hops. Light bitter finish. Higher ABV, 9.5%, stays hidden. $11.99 for a 4-pak of 16oz cans from Market Basket Concord, NH.

Fragrance of tangerine, pine and mango my tongue said WHOA cranky, an immediate bitterness but not in a bad way kinda like when your wife is pissed she didn't know where you were til she finds out you were shopping for her. 7 hops makes you spin your flavor wheel, is that 5 C's plus Simcoe and Mosaic... wait. Amarillo is in there. The 9.5 ABV comes on strong without being boozy. Definitely color me cranky.

A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1+ finger ivory head that receded to a wispy cap; nice lacing;

S: floral, grassy, earthy;

T: malt dominates from start to finish; there is a mild bitter undertone from the middle through the end that increases to moderate in the aftertaste;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: well balanced, which is what they wanted; I prefer a hop heavy DIPA;

Wanted to like this DIPA more than I did, it has some interesting qualities, but not ultimately satisfying.
To start with the positives, there is a very distinct tangerine aroma and it is also apparrent in the flavor, at times the finish reminded me of Courvisieur.
Unfortunately, the other reason it reminds me of Courvisieur is that it's downright boozey. I have had lots of DIPA's that hide the alcohol better but this beer is just overmatched by it. I might try it in the winter from a tulip glass and feel differently. But it didn't deliver from an IPA glass, and I have a couple of these that aren't leaving the fridge anytime soon.

16 oz can, pours near clear, medium amber, under a long lasting and fluffy off white cap. Solid sheeting and bands of lace left on the glass.

On the nose I'm getting a hit of grainy hops.

Tasty and bold DIPA,, tropical fruits and hoppy goodness...fresh and flavorful..highly enjoyable

3/7/18...pours hazy light gold, with a thin layer and lid of white fizzy foam. Grassy pine nose. Slight citrus. Subtle bitter burn throughout. Some grit in the mouthfeel. Very dry finish. Nice/.

My first Connecticut brew! Pouring from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass. The beer is golden in color and see through but not technically clear. It has small sediment floating throughout. Thin white crown that sticks around and leaves lacing the whole way. The smell is some slight juicy fruit with slight sweetness. Not really citrusy. The taste brings the fruit again but dang it brings a big alcohol presence too. Once the alcohol fades off it brings in a thick sweetness but I'm just not getting why the alcohol is so present. Mouthfeel is juicy, sticky and wet. Overall, not too bad but I've had better and I was a little thrown off by the alcohol presence even for a 9.5%. Not too bad just definitely detectable more than others I've had. They say that it's a "west coast" style IPA and I definitely don't get that feel from it either.

Medium gold body just shy of clear, finger or two of white foam on top... Featuring 7 (undisclosed) hops, this beer brings a big bitter fruit character - tropical and citrus, with some dank and some juicy undercurrents... Suggestions of orange, mango, and pine are most prominent to my palate... Moderately bitter with some shellac and a little heat of alcohol that seems to turn the sweetness from moderate to mild on each sip... A big DIPA for sure, but it doesn't get sloppy and maintain a nice taut edge - t I liked it...

Dark amber color, thin white head. Strong orange, melon, and grassy aromas (you can also smell the booze). Low bitterness and a body that immediately strikes as thin. Hop spice, orange, and too-sweet malts. I regret spending money on this DIPA; it just felt too sloppy.

A good DIPA, it seems to be widely available. I expected it to be much more hoppy. Pretty hot at 9.5%. Good beer at a good price.
