Short review: I want to hate this beer, but it's actually sort of impressive. Dank mango & garlic, very full-bodied, and it feels big in a good way. This can was a gift, but I would totally seek this one out again. Very surprised, since this brewery seems like a crappy, gimmicky novice beer-tourist destination.

On tap at Stony Creek. Pours a translucent yellowish Amber with almost no head. Some lacing. The aroma is lots of tropical fruits and dank hops. Hints of onion and garlic. The taste is mango, grapefruit, pineapple, onion and garlic. Dank finish with a noticeable alcohol presence. Bitter and boozey. Medium bodied. Overall, worth grabbing again.

16 oz can. It's a manly 9.5% ABV, but carries it well. By that I mean you know its there, but none of the boozy fumes. There's a light syrupy slightly sweet medium body to it, none of the BIG PINE or BIG CITRUS some brewers are striving for. Bitter in the background, but omni-present, no hop hammer. More understated flavors, but still a big beer. I like it better than Ghandi Bot, which makes this the best DIPA by a CT brewer that I've had.

Edit:
The batch dated 9/25/15 has lost the syrupy quality and has better tropicals. A slightly overall lighter body. The next batch will be telling on how this beer is going to evolve.

I get a big apricot aroma and a nice feel. I think this is a very good beer. The price point is right on. Would purchase again

Poured from 16 oz can into Ball jar glass. Looks good. Rose Amber. Thumb width head pure white fades to 1/8 inch. Mild citrus on the nose. Light refreshing mouth feel. Pine, hemp, and citrus in front. Solid and understated throughout. I like it very much and want more. After three good swigs it's smooth and easy, especially given the hefty ABV. This is delicious. It's a champion!

Drinking this out of a snifter at the brewery, first day of its release. Pours a nice light amber, clear, with a head that fades to nothingness. Decent aroma, but very light for a DIPA. Some sweetness and malt, a hoppy backbone hides in the back. Taste starts sweet, some fruity esters, hint of lemon, resin, big veggie hop note at the end. Good overall flavor but maybe this was hopped a bit too long, shouldn't get that veggie flavor here. Finishes bitter, no discernible alcohol. Really drinkable for 9.5% ABV.

You know, SC gets a lot of hate. This beer is actually OK. It's no mind-boggler and it's not super hoppy. It's a decent DIPA that's not too malty or sweet and it's really easy to finish the 10 oz snifter. I think with some improvement on the hop schedule or hop varietals this could really be a winner. Dry-hop this on Mosaic and I think it would be great.
