Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass canned on 3/1/17. Pours a very dark orange with a 1 inch stick white that leaves nice webs of lace.

Smell is apricot, tangerine, pine, garlic, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows apricot, garlic, tangerine, and a healthy dose of grapefruit in the fairly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is a big medium, plenty of carbonation, a little dry and sticky from fresh juicy hops, and is drinking for 9.5% ABV.

Overall this is a very nice version of a WCIPA, definitely has some of that Gubna vibe.

From a 16oz can, undated as best I can tell. Served in a nonic.

Pours a mostly clear, golden-pulp-free-orange-juice colour with a finger-plus of whipped, marshmallow-fluff head. Retention is good for a few minutes and settles back to a bubbly cap of suds with fat wads of lace.

Nose is faint. Some crusty bread and oranges? Maybe it's me because the last few beers I've had haven't seemed to smell like much.

Taste is massively bitter, entire macerated grapefruits, pith, peel, seeds and all, steeped in gum spirits of turpentine. Orange peel, lime and pine sap. There's a hefty bready malt body somewhere under all that lacquer thinner but my palate is too numbed to tell much about it. The finish is surprisingly quick and clean with just a lingering Grand Marnier-like boozy burn to the gullet.

Mouthfeel is medium-thick, adequately carbonated and creamy - which is odd because you don't normally think of something that reams out your sinuses and strips the lining off your esophagus as 'creamy.'

Overall, this was a rude shock to my juicy NEIPA acclimated palate. Not that this isn't juicy, too, in its own way, it's just the kind of juicy that ties you up, bends you over a stool and sticks kitchen tools in your orifices while it has its way with you. I mean, I like big, bitter and boozy as much as the next guy, and probably more than the four or five guys standing next to him, but this bad boy actually made me whimper.

It's very in your face and the alcohol is present. Aroma is sweet and fruity - almost like sour patch kids soaked in alcohol. Taste is citrusy but fairly alcoholic. Not very smooth. Not really my thing. Kind of regret getting this considering I could have got Molotov Lite. Oh well. It's not bad.

Look - An orange that I cannot see through. There was a minimal white foamy head to it.
Smell - Mostly pine with a hint of orange after smell to it.
Taste - Hoppy taste mixed with some fruits. This was a fairly unique taste that I can't say that I enjoyed nor disliked.
Feel - Really lacking a kick despite the higher alcohol percent and the carbonation is definitely noticeable.
Overall - It wasn't my favorite because of too much fruit tied with this drink.

Poured into a tulip glass

Pours a hazy, burnt orange color with a nice off white foamy head. The head goes away after a few minutes but leaves a beautiful ring that leaves great lacing on the glass.

On the nose I get some pine and resin mixed with citrus fruits. A bit of oranges, some clementines, and some pineapples.

First sip is big with some hops, bitter orange peels and citrus fruits. Some great balance with hops in there as well. further sipping brings tropical fruits into the mix such as mango, pineapple, passion fruit, and as it warms up a bit you get some malts thrown in. The bitterness lingers after all the flavors are gone but you still have a slight hint of sweetness hanging out.

Very little carbonation and a nice body to this. It's on the medium side and leaves a slight stickiness behind but not enough to say that it's not a bit dry on the finish.

Great DIPA from Stony Creek. The balance in flavors is well done but I wish the smell had more profile in it. Thankfully it's not all citrus but not enough floral notes to it. This beer will have you wanting more. This has slowly become one of my go to DIPAs if I don't see anything new I haven't tried yet and has earned a place in the rotation of the office beer fridge.

From the 16 oz. can dated 12/11/16. Sampled on December 26, 2016.

Slightly hazy golden yellow pour under a long lasting white head.

Loads of fruit on the nose including pineapple, orange, tangerine, and passion fruit with a slight white bread dough character underneath.

Medium to full body.

Same juicy fruit characters in the flavor with a strong sough dough or white mushy bread presence. Lingering fruity bitterness but in this instance I think it is the 9.5% alcohol that I find in the flavor more so than the aroma. That has kind of taken away from the other hoppy characters.

Nice beer great upfront smell has a lot of fruit. Color is vibrant and impressive. Taste and feel don't match initial take. A little too much bite on the finish that doesn't hold itself up to the premium DIPA's. Again a very solid beer.

Average DIPA. A beautiful brewery, the nicest I have seen in CT. Pours orange, hazy. Nice citrus smell, floral. Taste is too overpowering with citrus with little complexity. Bitterness lingers. Mouthfeel is light and watery. Overall, a decent beer that could be solid with some adjusting.
