A Belgian take on our Big Cranky Double IPA. We add fresh Blood Orange Juice, and then sour the wort. It is fermented with our house Saison Yeast Strain, lending spiciness and a lush texture. In the end you get an aggressive, west coast IPA with a refreshingly tart dry finish. The citrus and floral hops are perfectly complimented by the fresh blood orange flavor and aroma.

A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded to a wispy cap; nice lacing;
S: not very aromatic; what's there is a fairly non-descript tartness;
T: non-descript tartness up front; some blood orange comes in at the middle and lasts through the finish; mild bitterness at the end;
M: medium bodied; light to moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: I would have liked more blood orange in the flavor and aroma;

Deep gold, crystal clear, lasting head.
Full body, flavorful, refreshing and intense mouthfeel, good carbonation and heat, long aftertaste.
Sour as announced, slightly bitter, appears to be dry but sourness is well balanced.
Good at cleaning your palate, enjoyable for a change.

Had on tap into a small snifter glass at the brewery. Pours an orange / amber color with some cloudiness. Beer was pretty sour the whole way through. Nice and sweet to fight the sourness with the blood orange. Minimal hops, but there definitely were some fruity hop notes there. At 10% this will catch up fast. Probably Stony Creek's best offering at the moment.
