Probably the most generic New England style IPA I’ve ever had.

Pours a hazy orange with soft, fine head.

Smell is sweet and juicy with notes orange juice, mango, vanilla and peach. Some floral hints as well.

Taste is fruity and juicy with a pretty strong mineral tinge. Notes of citrus, peach and citrus peel. Moderate, slightly astringent bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and well carbonated.

Overall, a nice, slightly sharp IPA.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is hazy, dense gold, head is off white to very light tan and presents 2 fingers thick, head lingers really well with a 1/8 top that lasts nearly the entire quaff, head laces the glass sides well with lots of rings and spots.

Smell is definitely on the citrus juicy side, lighter tropicals, some pine, light barley/malt sweetness.

Taste is orange/citrus juice, limited tropical notes, light herbal/pine notes, full oat/wheat notes that rounds the citrus and softens the bitterness.

Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.

Overall - a true to early style NEIPA - slightly juicy, full bodied, lower carbonation, lighter bitterness. Sometimes the tropical notes are overdone and this brew steers clear of that.

12oz can into a pint glass at Little Brown Barrel this evening. Canned 9/7/21, so 5 months old, a little more than would be preferred.

Still looks pretty good. Standard hazy yellow body, big white head, excellent lacing.

Not much on the nose other than a little mixed fruit.

On tasting, fairly generic for the style. Smooth, fruit comes off more non citrus. Goes down easy.

Mouth closer to medium than full, finish fruity.

Overall, perhaps the age, though I dont think so, but this struck me as only so-so. Not unpleasant, went down easy enough, just not the "juice bomb" I was expecting.

Sloop Brewing "Juice Bomb"
on tap at the brewery on 1 September 2018

Notes: Listed at 6.5% ABV. Quite cloudy, it looks like a glass of orange juice beneath a short head of white. The aroma is tropical and juicy with notes of orange, grapefruit, and mango. There's also some hop resin and citrus pith. The flavor follows the aroma as usual. Notes of orange/tangerine, sweetened grapefruit, and a hint of pineapple and passionfruit bounce atop a lightly sweet golden malt base. A moderate to median bitterness level leaves it mostly dry but with some malt sweetness and citrusy fruitiness lingering. Great balance for a juicy NEIPA. Very good head retention and lacing. Medium bodied and crisp but smooth once warmed in the mouth. Really nicely done.

Look - canned 10/18/21: 12 oz can poured into a tasting glass. large and frothy head with excellent retention. white/light yellow in color and very cloudy, and looks just like white grapefruit juice.

Smell - grapefruit and tropical fruit mix with some piney hops as well. smells as juicy as it looks.

Taste - juicy as expected. moderate tartness with a lot of citrus (grapefruit), accompanied by light to moderate hoppy bitterness, which lingers. bitterness and trace malts for the finish.

Feel - medium bodied, average carbonation, and appropriate for the style in ABV at 6.5%.

Overall - i definitely see the appeal and why this beer is scored so highly: a drinkable and very juicy hazy that has a good balance of fruity and hoppy notes, without being too bitter. it's not the best NEIPA that I've had, but it's up there.

12oz can.
L: Fresh squeezed tropical fruit juice with a thick & creamy, long-lasting head that leaves a lot of lacing. Looks great.
S: Smells exactly how it looks with the addition of a herbal backdrop.
T: Mango, papaya, orange pith and fresh mint. Lightly bitter.
F: Medium body, clean mouthfeel, light carbonation, dry finish.
O: A very nicely crafted NEIPA. On the fruity side rather than dank, but not outright citrus. Very approachable.

Great hazy NEIPA. It has lots of fruit notes with a nice hop counterpoint. It is maltier than than most but not super malty like the high-end IPA's. It's a great beer for the price.

Cram packed with fruit flavor, the bomb of a beer by Sloop Brewing is basically a week's worth of fruit servings.

After pouring a matte golden taupe hue, Juice Bomb builds a creamy off-white from and a perfume of citrus, pastry and herb. Its creamy and rich upstart in taste slathers the tongue with grain sweetness to suggest poundcake, pastry, honey and marshmallow.

A hoppy transition happens over the middle palate as the bold and branch-ripe flavors of mandarin orange, lime and grapefruit carry a near sherbet character. With hints of pineapple, mango and passionfruit lurking in the backdrop, a fruit punch flavor comes to life. Trending balanced with an herbal and sprucy bitterness, their fruit juice flavors seen spiked with gin.

Medium full on the palate, Juice Bomb is a rounded, starchy and off-dry session that finishes with a quick turn to peppery and grassy resins with hemp dryness and a linger of fruit peels and green tea.

Pours deep golden almost copper in color. No head to be found. Nose was slightly sweet. Taste was interesting, hard to put my finger on the citrus flavor. I thought tangerine, others felt blood orange. Backside was a bit bitter, although I wish it had more bitterness.

06/22/21 PKG ON date on bottom rim of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.

A: Moderately hazy gold with 2-finger frothy off-white rocky head with good retention and thick stripes of lacing.

S: Pineapple, guava, and orange are the strongest hop components although there are some herbal, minty notes in there as well. Esters are high.

T: Delicious tropical hop flavors of pineapple, guava, passion fruit, and orange with some more bitter grapefruit pith and tons of fruity esters. Low-medium bitterness helps drinkability.

M: Very smooth although more carbonation than many NEIPAs with medium body and soft finish.

O: Sloop Juice Bomb is the real deal — a delicious aromatic and flavorful NEIPA with tropical emphasis.
