Notes: An explosively unfiltered IPA, golden in color. Bursting with citrus flavor that balances with a touch of bitterness on the finish.

Pours lightly cloudy pale gold color with a 1 finger head. Aroma is pleasantly sweet tropical, just right. Flavor is similar with lightly sweet, mellow orange notes. Really great taste. Feel is a fresh, not heavy. No bitterness, not much malt. Fantastic beer, perfect for summer.

L: clouded hazy golden color
S: citrus and sweetness
T: citrus, perfectly sweet, great balance of hops, amazing layered taste
F: unfiltered component comes through, light-medium body
O: Amazing well layered NEIPA. The unfiltered component adds a lot. The hops do not overpower the sweet citrusy taste. My first beer from Sloop definitely will be trying more.

1st beer tried from this brewery.
Nice example of the NEIPA style. Incredible fruit smell. Very cloudy with flotys in the glass (either by intention or perhaps past it's prime). Light bodied. Just enough hop bite at the end. At 6.5% alc seems like a nice spring/summer beer. May I please have another!

When not looking for a serious dose of hoppy bitterness, this is as good as I've had. I start to salivate as soon as I open a can. Not to mislead, there is a hop presence there, but it's behind the cloudy softness. All that one could want from a NEIPA.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned 01/20/2020.

Opaque, and very solid orange to lemon yellow colored looking body. Head creation is a light off white color, with a good amount of lacing and bubbles at three plus finger height. Some retention, but manages to settle quickly for an IPA with some decent lacing. Solid looking IPA.

Juice bomb on the nose? Somewhat. But a good solid note of light citrus, kind of zesty and oily more than juicy orange scented, with touches of perhaps a light bit of herbal spice. Touches a hint of malt sweetness for balance also.

Pretty straightforward on the palate. Light touches of orange on first sip, mixing with maybe a bit of lemon bitterness. Hints slightly oily but with a simple malt backbone that isn't rich or creamy but not wet either. Flirts with a touch of spicy mixing hop finish as well too.

A decent if somewhat straightforward IPA.

12 oz. Can opened and reviewed on 3/9/20

A gold and orange color, highly unfiltered look, not really hazy but floaties all throughout. A small white foam cap forms, falls away to scattered coverage.

The hops have a very juicy aroma, orange citrus blend, pine and earthy grains rounds out the nose.

The hop flavor is all citrus, peppery earth, lightly malted grains and a current of light citrus based juice dominates. High tones citrus with an earthy bitter bite in the middle, finishing with a juicy light feel and bitter citric taste.

This IPA falls somewhere between a hazy, New England and West coast style APA. Hops are unique yet bold, not exactly complex but interesting enough to keep you in the Sloop!

12 ounce can in a stemmed tulip glass.

Pours a washed out creamsicle looking color with a 1F white cap that fades to a lasting film. Modest spot and wisp lacing.

Dank and floral and musty. Like an old cedar planter in the corner of the basement - in a good way.

Tropical and citrus fruit flavor mix.

Light bodied and easy drinking. The abv is right and it finishes clean.

Decidedly not very juicy overall, to my liking.

Elizaville was center of my cycling training when I lived on Rhinecliff Road. This Dutchess County Craft lives up to the hamlet.
a) Hazed body sets forth an energetic head that lasts, but laces little.
s) For a citric NE IPA the nose is pitch perfect. Musty and citric and tropical.
t) Likewise, fruit salad guava, peaches, melon rind, mango backed up by peppery, earthy spice
F) Mid bodied, tickley carb, drying finish.
o) Down the center NE.

Overall pretty nice, tons of musty tropical fruit, little citrus, little malt tasty.

-Northeastern IPA.

A: A beautiful pale lemonade color pour sits a dense and juicy tangerine orange in the spiegelau ipa glass. Medium dense carbonation lazily rises through the brightly colored body with a thin, creamy oatmeal toned head atop. The topping was short lived, leaving an spacious thin lace offering on the walls. Really nailed the coloring aspect here.

S: Fresh wet peaches and pineapple are juicy on the open. Fresh oranges with hints of grapefruit juice. Nice burst of wet tropical with a solid strength with some fruit cup, particularly apricot juice to round out.

T: Flavor was orange-pineapple-tropical hops backed by some juicy pulp grapefruit resins. Tart tropical, juicy citrus with dank floral and pear slices. Breakfast fruit of cantaloupe with some resinous starfruit.

M: Juicy thick mouthful, sticky resins of hop oils, tart, with a smooth carbonation factor.

O: Dank and juicy, lives up to its name and billing. Lots of flavor, whirlpool hops drip with wetness, tart tropical hints, and dank floral, all coming together in a smooth blend that does not disappoint. Great first impression and the drink-ability is exceptional, disappearing before you can finish your review/evaluation, because you are so intrigued and thirsty for the next sip. Solid outstanding regards.

T - follows the nose but fades off a bit.
F - medium/full mouthfeel. Mild aftertaste.
O - a very good, tasty beer. Will seek again.

Understanding that one’s taste in beers is extremely subjective, here’s another very good unfiltered IPA in a relatively low ABV.

Thank you, brewers of Sloop Juice IPA.

a: hazy matte burnt orange color with a splash of deep yellow. 1.5 finger silky, solid white head

s: pineapple, mango, strawberry, kiwi, apricot, orange juice, sweet grapefruit, sweet melon and papaya. faint touch of bready malts at the end..very faint

t: ripe mango, juicy pineapple, papaya, guava, sweet melon, orange juice. kiwi and peach as well. a little bit of a doughy cracker note in the background as well

m: fluffy, creamy medium mouthfeel with lower carbonation

o: quite a nice NEIPA. it's got nice hop flavors which are well-harmonized. it's nice and juicy, but not overly sweet. it's a nice NEIPA in that regard, and also in the fact that it can be a good "craft" beer intro beer because it tastes good and is not offensive or overbearing in any regard

Canned 12/05/19. Let warm to 50F +/- , & poured into a 16 oz tulip.
Hazy yellow, with a slight orange tint. (= grapefruit + tangerine juice) 1.5 finger quickly-dissipating creamy white head, that leaves a ring, 1-bubble thick covering across the whole surface, and about an inch of lacing.

Smell is fresh pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, tangerine, apricot, persimmon, and a hint of lemon.Slight bready malt is apparent , when swirled. The whole thing is quite inviting, slightly sweet , with some depth, & just yells "Drink me!" . :)

Taste is peach, peach pit, creamy pineapple smoothie, lemon, lime, grapefruit, a slight peony+rose-ish floral element, and brief touches of biscuit+cracker malt. Light-moderate bitterness throughout, that balances the sweet fruity elements, keeping it a bit dryer than the aroma . I.e. , just the right amount. I wouldn't say "Amazing!" , but it's just short of that.

Feel is medium, initially lightly prickly, and then slightly creamy & oily. Carbonation + bitterness slaps the tongue around just enough, and lets it linger, and wallow in contented exhaustion .

Overall, just a joy , and lives up to its well-deserved name. My go-to when I find it fresh. FYI, DO let it warm up a bit , for best experience, and DO drink it sooner than later. Starts to diminish , slightly, at the 5-6 week old mark. This specimen , however, being in the sweet spot(3-4 wks-old), demands I grab another. :) Highly recommend trying this one.

Picked up a 6 pack of these in October in Syracuse right after I got off the plane.

Pours a hazy, soapy dark yellow color, 1/3" white head. Nose of citrus, orange and grapefruit. Has an Amarillo and Citra kind of nose combo impression wise.

Taste is interesting. Similar to their no boil hops, it has a green vegetal bitterness and moderate burn. Problematic? No, just not elite status stuff either. Bitterness likely pushed around by familiar Simcoe bitterness and dryness but also an almost Sorachi like lemon rind presence. The body of the beer seems to be more traditional, was getting some caramel notes I wasn't expecting. Not even sure how much flaked oats/wheat (more likely wheat) this had going on given the bitterness and tastes like burning notes, that again, were mild and not problematic. Seems like a very small minority of non barley adjunct going on here.

Kind of shocked at the high score. Its a decent beer at a decent price 6/$10 I think at Wegman's. Maybe I was spoiled on my trip with all kinds of Vermont and Tree House beers after this one.

Served on tap into a 16 oz (473 ml) nonic glass at Rory Dolan's in Yonkers, NY.
A: Pours a dark, golden-orange color with a 2 finger, foamy, orange chiffon color head, about a half finger of moderate term retention, and rings of foamy lacing.
S: Aromas of orange, pineapple, mango, lemon, and pine. Caramel? Perhaps, so much fruit it was hard to tell.
T: Sweet. Flavors follow the nose, but the caramel malt core is much more in evidence. Pine and/or cumin bitterness. Overall, very fruity.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Juicy.
O: A very crunchable, easy drinking NEIPA. Juice Bomb? Hell, yeah!

A: Pours an orange-yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Lots of citrus and tropical fruit up front. Very light malt. Juice bomb indeed

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the citrus and tropical fruit and then gets some light floral notes as well. Very light malt to balance low bitterness. Finishes with lingering juicy citrus

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A good NEIPA that is super easy to drink. Very much on the juicy side. Definitely worth checking out

Draft: Poured a hazy and cloudy dirty yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of juicy and dank hops notes with light residual sugar is quite enticing. Taste is also a mix of juicy and dank hoppy notes with some light residual sugar notes and a dry finish with light bitterness. Body is full with good carbonation. Enjoyable NEIPA but hops juicy notes could even more dominant.

This is outta site stuff. I got this in Grand Central station in tap in a 32oz plastic cup and a straw. Wow! Gorgeous brew. Opaque pale burnt orange week an eggshell off white head and plentiful, sticky lacing. Impressive.

Nose has so much tropical fruit smelling it is almost as pleasurable as drinking it. Pineapples, mangos, papaya, oranges and juicy melons. A bit of creamsickle Sweet and lightly toasted pilsner malt.

Taste sets the bar imo. Lots of fruit up front. Pineapples and mangoes followed by oranges light grapefruit. Healthy and supportive malt gives a more grain than bread platform. A dry super clean finish, just enough bitterness while keeping it relatively low.

Great feel. Smooth velvety with a touch of creaminess in the carbonation. A surprising amount of heft and fullness that flows into a mild amount of oil. A refreshing and thirst quenching swallow that delights in and encourages a gulp or two while hinting that you savor each sip.

The best NEIPA I've had. Period. I may come back in a year and give it all fives!

This is the Platonic form of a NEIPA. What so many other brewers strive for and seldom attain. This instantiated archetype actualizes all of the buzzword descriptors perfectly "Juicy", "Citrusy," etc...Big complex aroma hops, low bitterness, perfect level of sweetness. Capital I-deal.

On tap at a neighborhood pizza joint

Golden murk, 1 finger white head, quickly reduced to spotty lacing, partial ring and cap
Like everyone else I get sour pineapple and citrus aromas, light pine
Full orange, melon, pineapple flavors
Soft mouthfeel initially with a little bitterness at the back of the mouth
Could drink a few of these.
Very happy Sloop distribution reaches us.
