Notes: An explosively unfiltered IPA, golden in color. Bursting with citrus flavor that balances with a touch of bitterness on the finish.

1st beer tried from this brewery.
Nice example of the NEIPA style. Incredible fruit smell. Very cloudy with flotys in the glass (either by intention or perhaps past it's prime). Light bodied. Just enough hop bite at the end. At 6.5% alc seems like a nice spring/summer beer. May I please have another!

On tap at 181 Cabrini, in a pint glass.

Appearance: Perfect hazy yellow, longlasting frothy white head and tons of lacing. Exactly the orange juice you want in a New England IPA.

Smell: Pleasant tangerine citrus with an undercurrent of melon.

Taste: Follows the nose, but the amplitude is so much higher. Bursting with citrusy flavor, very low bitterness, bolstered by the excellent mouthfeel. The kind of hop juice you expect from places like Trillium and Tree House.

Mouthfeel: Light side of medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Pretty dry.

Overall: Best IPA made in NY I've had in many months. The name is a little laughable in how on the nose it is, but the beer delivers. I crave this beer.

A slurry of yellows and tawny golden reminiscent of lion's coat...very hazy. Relatively loose formed khaki colored head. Aroma is tropical upfront featuring pineapple, kiwi, mango and grapefruit followed by a tangy, chalky resin. Med bodied, thick and chewy. Strikes a nice balance between a fluffy, pillowy sweetness and a harder dry resin bite. A hard beer to put down fast, but that's okay as the flavor develops over time. Melons, lemonade sour patch kids, dried mango, pine, orange zest flavor points. Plays well with a slightly toasted, honeyed maltiness.

Drank on tap at Melzingah Tap House, Beacon, MA
Served in a nonic

The beer poured a slightly hazed, yellow-amber color and was topped by an inch-tall, sudsy, bright white cap of froth. Outstanding retention. The crown slowly fell to a resilient, foamy cap. A web of clingy lacing coated the glass from top to bottom and lasted until the drink’s end.

The aroma was pure hop candy. Super fruity and bright. Tropical fruits dominated. Loads of mango, guava and papaya. Really juicy and sweet. Citrus was noticeable as well. Orange was most apparent. As the beer warmed, some weedy dankness came forth. The orange notes also intensified.

The flavor profile was nearly as amazing. Really hoppy, fruity and exotic. Mango came through big time. Intense peach notes too. Loads of juicy citrus. Strong orange presence. The hops were balanced by a fairly stiff, pale malt backbone. A touch sugary and sweet but not excessively so. Orange pith appeared as the beer moved along the palate. Some piney, resiny, grapefruity notes came through on the finish.

Terrific fluffy and plush mouthfeel. Creamy and smooth on the palate. Medium-full bodied for the style. The liquid contained a fine, moderate, tongue blanketing effervescence.

Juice Bomb is an amazing IPA that definitely lives up to its name. This beer is outrageously fruity and drinks far bigger than its ABV suggests. I would definitely recommend seeking this out if you appreciate hop-driven yet balanced IPAs.

Juicy tropical, aroma is insanely good, not overly sweet like some New England style IPA's can become, nice clean bitterness very little of it. Taste showcases heavy traces of mosaic fruitiness.

Big foamy creamy head fades slowly, nice lacing, crystal clear pale color.
Nose nice musty tropical hops, passion fruit, guava, maybe mango pineapple thing, mild citrus, fruity.

Taste brings more musty tropical fruit, passion fruit, guava, a touch of peach, melon rind, faint mango skin and a little juicy citrus, touch of banana like fruit too, touch earthy pine, fair bitterness, dank mild sticky finish, hint of malt, little more earthy spicy piney hop.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb.

Overall pretty nice, tons of musty tropical fruit, little citrus, little malt tasty.

This seems to be a well-liked beer on BA, as I've seen it here and there on NBS and WBAYDN threads, but it seems to be making its way into my distribution footprint these days... very exciting for me to try a new-to-me brew that others rave about, as always. This is Sloop's now-and-then NEIPA, and my can of it is a little over a month old. Let's see how it stands up to the local favorites!

Pours a fairly opaque and kind of anonymous orange hazy color with a rocky and dense, thick head of eggshell-white foam building up to a finger-and-a-half or so. Good lace with consistency throughout the pour. Legs seem well put-together too. Not bad, but doesn't stand out from the pack.

Nose is a really nice combination of juicy citrus and more tropical elements that kind of congeals in a satisfying and really great way. I get a lot of tangerine fleshiness and mango but with a dose of pine and earth to balance. It's funny because I assumed this would just be straight tropical juice, but it really does have a more balanced profile. That's not to say it doesn't stand out, because it actually really does; it's just got some density to it that I didn't expect. Orange and pineapple waft upwards, while a bit of chive lends some unique interest to the proceedings. I'm pretty on-board with this one!

Wow, this is definitely a juice bomb! I have to say, I'm a little jaded when it comes to stuff like this these days. That sucks to say, I know, because NEIPAs are so en-vogue... and, don't get me wrong, they're one of my absolute favorite styles in terms of modern beer types, but there are a lot of really boring examples. This starts with a crisp hit of orange and tangerine with some light peachy notes before melding with crisp, crackery and lightly-biscuity malt in the early-mid palate. The transition to finish has some mango and more tangerine... even some tropical citrus like yuzu comes across here. It has the tang of traditional citrus but the off-kilter flavor of a more tropical varietal. Maybe some pomelo as well. Super slick and juicy finish. Medium body with a mouth-coating feel and a super-balanced finish. Not chalky, not yeasty, not hard-to-drink. Very approachable and sessionable. I really appreciate this one! Sloop is off to a good start in my book!

Hazy and delicious. Another very good hazy ipa. If haze is your thing you’ll enjoy this one. If your grandfather drank beer and was cantankerous he would not understand this beer or style. Very juicy.

Understanding that one’s taste in beers is extremely subjective, here’s another very good unfiltered IPA in a relatively low ABV.

Thank you, brewers of Sloop Juice IPA.

On tap at a neighborhood pizza joint

Golden murk, 1 finger white head, quickly reduced to spotty lacing, partial ring and cap
Like everyone else I get sour pineapple and citrus aromas, light pine
Full orange, melon, pineapple flavors
Soft mouthfeel initially with a little bitterness at the back of the mouth
Could drink a few of these.
Very happy Sloop distribution reaches us.

Draft at Luca in Lancaster, PA. Pours an opaque light orange with a durable off-white head. Initial impression is yes - juicy. Lots of orange, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and a hint of pine. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish is somewhat subdued, with no lingering bitterness. Overall, OK but not spectacular.
