12 oz can with a 14 July 2020 canning date stamp on the bottom.
Pours with a cloudy pale golden body with a very good white head that has good retention.
It has a somewhat unappealing aroma with a modestly better flavor. Fruity, including some papayas mango, but with the suggestion of some fruits gone bad.

O: pretty solid beer; well done! Great taste, well balanced.

Two cans poured into a clear glass liter mug brings forth a liquid the color and as opaque as pineapple juice. Unfortunately, there will probably be too many comparisons to fruit with Super Soft. The aroma is soft and juicy. There's a bit of a sustaining white head and glass lacing. What taste there is could and will be described as juicy. It doesn't have a thin feel, so there has to be some malt and softening starches in there, they just don't add much flavor. Neither do hops. This is a bland, yet nice to the palate, way to consume a 6% ABV beer with some body. There is truth in the name.

Can purchased and drank at Point of the Bluff Vineyards in Hammondsport, NY.

This one pours a very hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like almost sour grapefruit, sweet malt, and astringent vegetal hops.

Sloop has fallen so far over the last few years - this one is kind of hard to enjoy, unfortunately. It's got a sticky and almost sour sweetness to it, with some vegetal bitterness, and too much character.

This doesn't feel super soft, or even moderately soft, just kind of slick and not crazy enjoyable to drink.

I had stopped drinking Sloop a few years back due to a decrease in quality control. I gave them another shot here, and it seems like it's unfortunately business as usual.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a thick, frothy white head. Lots of cobweb lacing and solid retention.

The aroma brings some notes of melon and orange, with some grapefruit and a hint of spice.

The flavor has a fair bit of honeydew melon and mixed berries, with some oranges and grapefruit. Finishes subtly earthy. Basically fruit salad.

The feel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Very soft and creamy with a dry finish.

Overall, this is a good but straightforward NEIPA. Despite that, it's very well-priced and drinkable so it's always worth trying.

Poured from a 12oz can stamped "canned on 6/23/20", to a Nonic.
Hazy peach-flesh color with a small white head that fades rather quickly.
Tangy orange rind smell.
Taste is a pleasing mix of strawberry and grapefruit with very little hop burn.
Body is medium to light and it could us a little more carbonation.
Glad to see an NEIPA packaged in 12oz format. Very drinkable at 6%.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned June 7th 2020.

Hazy but not quite turbid or chunky looking body, giving a color of greenish to yellow banana looking in appearance. Head is quite rich, a nice bright white head, very bubbly with tall height and good clumping retention. Dissolves a little fast, but still a solid looking IPA.

Aroma hits a nice subtle hop angle. Slight hints of sweet spice green herbs on first note. Gives a bit of way to mushy fruit, but it doesn't tend to linger. Relatively neutral malt and yeast palate as anticipated, but not much of an explosive or grand hop entrance either.

Palate seems decent if a little subdued. Light touches of green earthy flavors, with a touch of tropical action as well. Milky sensing like body, a faint touch of flour and chalky malt like mid palate character as well. Very front forward as the finish is very much, if nearly non existent. Hints a bit wet and fleeting as well.

Not sure what the angle or direction this is going. Drinkable beer, but unfortunately doesn't stand out in a big IPA crowd.

Single, 12 ounce can copped from Crown Liquors in Vauxhall. Pours a golden, lucid hue with moderate frothing. Semi-sweet aroma replete with hints of sugarcane and honey. Thirst-quenching but nothing to write home about.

I've had cloudy, hazy IPAs. This one was London foggy! One of the murkiest golden pours I've seen. Explosion of citrus in the nose and on the palate, and the finish lands softly as promised, with a decidedly earthy run out. Guess you don't have to boil the hops to bring the hop flavor.

12 oz can, clearly dated on the package and at the bottom of the can. 1 month old at this point.

Hops: ???

Fruit and clean. A great example of what made NE IPAs so popular. A great shelf pick-up.

I'm glad Sloop sailed into my life, as I love this, their 6th beer that I have tasted, and the memories of cycling in Dutchess and Columbia counties when I lived up that green hill way.
a) Massive egg meringue head over a grapefruit juice body that laces galaxy arms.
s) Floral! fruit is subdued - tea like.
t) All kinds of soft, ripe but not cloying fruit salad and its accompanying juice.
f) Silky, delicate, yeah, super soft. Thinner.

L: Poured from a can to a pint glass. Had a pale yellow color and a very cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of creamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of citrus fruit, hops, tropical fruit, and malt.

T: Tasted of a mild amount of hops (a subtle pinch of them), a lot of citrus fruit (tangerine, in particular, with some grapefruit), light malt notes (mostly in the finish; not a major factor at all), and a whole lot of tropical fruit (papaya, especially). This is a light, sweet, and easy to like flavor. Obviously, it's fruit-forward, but it manages to work well.

F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth and soft finish. Light-bodied.

O: A well done, easy to drink IPA. Worth a look.

Picked up a 6 pack of this in Syracuse, NY at the end of October. Drank 5, still got 1 left.

Pours a soapy and cloudy yellow with 1/2" white head. I found the commercial tug job to be very optimistic. It isn't bursting with tropical notes, there is a soft hop presence to it, vegetal, green more than tropical. I dunno, seems like they would tell you what hops were used if they were all that dank, which they did not seem to be.

Additionally, there is bitterness definitely perceptible (not a bad thing) here despite claims to the contrary. The taste has a familiar grapefruit component that is welcome but hardly groundbreaking. There is a weird hop not quite burn, but there is definitely something acidic that in the words of Ralph Wiggum "tastes like burning" even if only mildly so. Any malt content is minimal and feels like all barley, can't tell if this is hazy because flaked oats/wheat or more likely, simply that 100% of the hops are post boil. I did "like" the beer, but kind of found it to be quite different than as advertised.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip glass. No date on the can. Pours a pale hazy yellow with minimal head and lacing. Dank, resinous pine on the nose and lots of orange (candied orange?). Flavors are really citrus forward, almost sweet. Candied citrus, with a slightly piney, dank finish. Really balanced and enjoyable beer - really soft as the name implies. Easy drinking and one I’d get again when I see it. Unexpectedly thin mouthfeel for the hop oils and big flavors.

Sloop Brewing "Super Soft"
12 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$2 @ Wegmans, King of Prussia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: Super Soft pours a cloudy golden-orange colored body beneath a two finger thick head of fluffy bright white foam. It looks like a glass of orange juice. The aroma offers pine backed by citrus which is mainly orange. The flavor continues the orange theme but there's some apricot, apple, and mango in there as well. The malt is basic and just lightly doughy and bready, which is good because it allows the hops to shine unhindered. If there's any bitterness there I can't detect it, but I am getting something which I'll assume is some light hop bite, and yet it seems balanced. The malt isn't that strong though, and it's medium-light in body so that makes sense. The carbonation is fine-bubbled and median. Looking back the head has held well and there's some OK lacing left behind. In the end it's really nicely done, and very highly drinkable.

On tap, Craft & Draft
Murky hazy yellow, abundance of white head, spotty lacing, no floaters
Sour pineapple, lemon, tangerine aroma
Pineapple, melon, grapefruit, light pine and pepper
Somewhat watery, hop bite inconsistent with NEIPA style
Good, but not the depth of flavor found in top IPA's. Still, enjoyable

Smooth on the palate and easy to drink. Overall a nice IPA and the name fits the beer. Special delivery from my BA friend @TheIPAHunter

A: The color is a beautiful "glowy" golden color. It has an amazing snow white head that doesn't give in and is seemingly as thick as Fluff!

S: The smell is nice but muted. Orange blossom, grapefruit pith and lemongrass and overall tropical and maybe a touch of white peppercorn.

T: The taste is really good I would say mostly orange and other citrus flavors and maybe a touch of "grassyness" and also a bit of papaya is also noticed.

F: It's all in the name - Soft and Smooth!

O: This is a REALLY good NEIPA. I purchase this whenever it is available. Enjoy!

Pours a pale gold cloud. Smells citrusy and a slightly dank. Flavor is a little disappointing. The fruity citrus is quite muted. The slight bitter dank finish is nice. Super smooth. Nice but I think it falls flat where it matters most.

L: Like a slightly whited out orange juice. Small sticky lacing.. small head 1 minute post pour.
S: Very fresh tropical aroma, mixed with orange back drop.
T: Taste is rather mixed across the aroma profile. Nothing really jumps out. Lets call it balanced.
F: Carbonated up front with light bitterness. Smooth finish that leaves no lingering bitterness.
O: A very good tasting IPA. The overall flavors are a little flushed.. but it's still tasty!
