It’s getting warmer every passing day up in the ole’ Hudson Valley, and we would love to be catchin’ rays and sippin’ IPAs with all of y’all. But since we can’t take ya to the beach just yet, we decided to bring the beach to YOU! NO TAN LINE is the latest beer in our Seasonal NO series...and this one got brewed with flaked oats and flaked wheat, along with a healthy hopping of Citra Cryo and Cashmere. Aromas of mango and orange blossom are followed by notes of gummy candies, pulpy orange juice, and a slight hint of rainbow sherbet.

Pours a hazy light amber with a 1/4" white head, which fades to a wisp.
Aroma is pineapple, citrus, pine, floral.
Taste is pineapple, grapefruit, mango, papaya.
Medium bodied, light carbonation. Dry, finish.
A very fruity NEIPA. Decent.

in all fairness this can was pushing best buy date. This hazy did have a slightly sunny taste to but was subdued in comparison to the many flavorful 7 juicy hazies on the market.

The warning is right on the label, "w/ flaked wheat". Nothing can spoil a good IPA like the inclusion of wheat. But, there are also flaked oates, hops and it's from Sloop Brewing. All that is good. Now add another variable, it's in the discounted section. The pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug is worrisome. It produced that big foamy white starchy head wheat "contributes" to an IPA. Then there's the uneven ebbing of the head, leaving irregular lacing inside the glass. The yellow-amber opaque color isn't problematic, it's the secondary characteristics that are. Redeeming, to a degree is the aroma. There's some sharply piney hops within, perhaps a harbinger of a tasty brew. But alas, this is hoppy bitter, without any character. The mouthfeel is far too light for any ordinary NEIPA, wheat in the wort most assuredly being the culprit. Balance?, there's absolutely no malt taste interplay that, with their hoppy character, make IPAs among the most popular styles in the world. Certainly, other starches can work to some level for an IPA to taste great. But barley malt is a needed major ingredient that just can't be substituted. For a NEIPA, this brings an unpleasant peculiar smell and a bad for its category drinking experience.

From [int can marked CANNED ON 05/03/21 BATCH 1187
Pours into my tulip a fully opaque pineapple shade with a big dense cream colored head. Fluffy lace.
Scent is tropical fruits, pineapple and grapefruit. Hint of pine
Taste is muddled tropical fruits, white peaches, stone fruits. Hints of citrus (lime, tangerine, white grapefruit). Canteloupe.
No bitterness. Tart and on the dry side.
Mouth is soft and creamy medium.
Very refreshing NEIPA. Nice range of fruity hop notes. Little to no bitterness.
