A stunning example of the classic Czech Pils style, 12º Bohemian Lager uses all Czech barley and Saaz hops; it is fermented in open tanks and lagered. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and shipped cold. A rare treat for USA to have this in package. Extremely fresh. Shipped cold via our bulk tank containers and canned fresh in CT. Czech Republic.

Almost couldnt believe i saw it. They brew this thing in czechia, and with some global shipper, whom has other beers done in the same fashion, meaning packaged for the usa... then ship the big stainless steel keg over to new england where they can it. This one for me is not what i want in a czech pilsner, its more on the modern, bright side. It's funky in a way. Would pick up again if the opportunity presented itself again. Worth noting that stateline liquors in elkton maryland does not keep this beer cold. Nor any eastern euro beers. Considering they are almost always lagers, that's crazy to me.

Pours a semi clear yellow with massive, thick head.

Smell is bready and a bit herbal, very clean and crisp. Notes of toast, citrus, buttered popcorn and hints of rye, Saltines and lemon peel.

Taste is crisp, clean and bready with a solid bitterness. Notes of rye, butter, citrus and crackers with some herbal hints. Absolutely perfect balance and so easy to drink.

Mouthfeel is medium, creamy and well carbonated.

Overall, a superb Pilsner, probably the best I've had along with the Tankovna Urquell.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Bright golden, cloudy, lasting creamy head. Just beautiful. Sweet cereal aroma, fresh bread. Taste is more of the sweet, velvety malts, rich, creamy. Simple but luxurious. Just amazing. This brew deserves every point I gave it.

my first from this brewery, another cool and fairly random can to come into idaho recently, just when i have been the most starved for diversity in my beer drinking as i have been in a very long time, glad to have this sort of thing show up, especially as spring starts to happen and lager season kicks off. this is definitely old worldy, bold and interesting for the style, yet also sort of unconventional at the same time, unexpected. unfiltered looking from the can, fizzy but not holding much head, uniquely malty without being cooked or sweet at all, like the absolute essence of the pale grain, earthy and starchy and organic to me, with a little more from the yeast than is common in the style, perhaps from the open fermentation the can informs me they employ for this. its not funky or anything but has a breadier character, and its nice and dry too. tons of minerals, a raw character, and and a bit more body than a lot of them too, this definitely is interesting as they go. the finish isnt very hoppy but instead has a lingering twang from the yeast in that space, kind of striking at first, even a little sloppy at first impression, but it grows on me quickly and by the end of the can im considering it a flattering feature. ill need to buy another one of these and take a little more time with it, its unique in this style for sure and seems more flavorful than most, but it also didnt wow me like i thought it might...

This is a good one and very unique to the Raul man. Like a hippo in a pink too too, at first I am a bit perplexed...but then yeah, you do you, hippo. This is unlike any Lager I have ever had. It’s orange like October 31st, and there is a lil creamy texture/note to it like Beethoven sipping his morning beverage. I’m into it.

Woot!

I'm excited to get a real Czech pils in U.S.
Pours a med fizzy bubbly head with med retention, nice foamy lacing, hazy med golden color with a bit of sediment, with no can date I really hope this isn't too old

Nose is nice, fair pilsner type malts with a little corn and grainy-sweet doughy notes, an interesting cereal almost waffle like malt character as well, nice floral grassy noble hops, a touch of lemongrass as well, and an interesting but possibly not so pleasant fruity note in the background

Taste brings more of the grain out front, grainy-sweet pilsner malt with a little corn, some crusty bread, and more of that sweet waffle batter like character, there's a lot going on it's hard for me to get everything in there, hops kick in with some herbal floral noble hops med bitterness, and some waxy notes possibly oxidation, but there is also a white grape must ester character that also could be either oxidation or age, something that really shouldn't be there, which I'm guessing came from the trip here from Czech Rep. Drier finish that is a touch sticky, med bitterness with a slight higher bitterness and spicy herbal hop lingering, and more of that waxy grape or maybe sherry-like fruity character, which I'm really thinking is oxidation.

Mouth is med bod, a bit soft lager and med-higher foamy carb

Overall this started nice and had a lot of potential, the bitterness was right there, hops in general were on, malts seemed nice, but some oxidation or continued fermentation from the trip here and added some off-characters unfortunately. If not for that I think I really would have liked it.

Can. Pours a darker yellow hue. Really light head. Smells of sweet dough, slight spicy hops, and a noticeable lager yeastiness. Smells on the sweeter side. Flavor is pretty commendable. Honey drizzled cereal grain (think liquid Honey Nut Cheerios™). Subtle noble hops and a bit of a rustic yeastiness. One of the best parts of the beer is that the flavors really open up as it warms. Body is fuller in the spectrum of it's style but it drinks very easily and begs for repetition. Soft-ish carbonation. A pleasant experience. Straight from the source; happy they were able to can this and get it out to New England! Bring more; I'll buy it.

Pours a cloudy brilliant golden color. It appears unfiltered as there is a decent amount of suspended material in the beer. Nice thick pillowy white head collapses until just a slick of foam remains on top of the beer along with some lovely lacing on the glass.

Aroma has notes of sweet bread, a bit doughy, with some light grassy hops.

Taste follows the nose with some sweet bready malts, a touch of light cracker malts and a robust grassy, earthy bitterness from the hops. Although they were not all that prominent on the nose, they really take the drivers seat in the flavor profile. Not very sweet at all, but there is a slight twang to this one that I can't quite place. Its not bad, its just definitely there.

Feel is medium bodied, crisp and vibrantly carbonated.

Overall this is a really nice Bohemian pilsner. Its quite good and if I had regular access to it, Id definitely pick it up again.

L: Hazy dark wheat with a thin ivory head that quickly dissolves into film
S: not much to speak off, a slight scent of saltines
T: malty, fresh bread, wheat cereal, with sweet floral notes all over a mildly hoppy base
F: richer than most pilseners, the continuous mild carbonation gives it a slight tingle and the underlying hops give it a nice crisp, dry finish
O: an excellent Czech pale lager. Filling enough that you don't feel like chugging it down, while refreshing enough to make you want to reach for another when your glass is finally empty. This beer exemplifies spending an entire summer afternoon sitting in a biergarten nibbling on snacks and chatting with friends.
