Canned 9/21/22; drank 10/28/22 @ the Yarchives.
Mostly opaque brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small, noisy khaki head; decent lace.
Light roast coffee bean, brown sugar & faint vanilla notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Light roast coffee bean & orange citrus flavors.
Black IPA vibes to my palate; pretty good, overall.

16 oz can (canned 12/23/21) into a pint glass.
A: Dark mahogany color with a dense tan head that left rings of lace as it receded.
S: Complex toasted nutty malt aroma. Coffee, dark brown sugar, molasses, dark stone fruit, and bread.
T: Bitterness comes from both coffee and piney hops to balance the nutty, bready roasted malt backbone.
F: Medium-light bodied that might benefit from a little more heft.
O: A very well-balanced brown ale.

16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 10/3/2017. Pours slightly hazy reddish brown color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, milk chocolate, and cocoa; with lighter notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, pepper, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, milk chocolate, and cocoa; with lighter notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, pepper, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, spicy hop; and light roast/coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, milk chocolate, cocoa, light smoke/char, herbal, pepper, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and lightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is and excellent American brown ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very classic tasting style example. Nicely rich malt complexity without being too roasty, great fruity/nutty coffee complexity, and nice earthy hop presence. A very enjoyable offering.
