This place opened in a spot where there used to be an old tire shop about 5-7 years ago. The pluses for this spot are the location and that's it. It's very crowded, the service is spotty at best and the food is generic. We went with about 4-5 people, the selection is all fake craft think blue moon, shock top. Occasionally you'll find an Ommegang on there. Our drinks took too long to get to us, the food was very average. We live 1 block away from this place and in the last decade or so have been here just once. There are better options in the area. This spot shouldn't really be on BA.

A dear friend of mine lives around the corner from Harlem Tavern so when we get together for lunch we come here. Well, we have come here. Two or three times. Mostly for the convenience factor, but we're not huge fans of Harlem Tavern.

The patio outside is great when the weather is nice, and that is a plus. The joint is big so you won't be waiting for a table. There are some good beers on tap. But that's about it.

Service is typically slow, disorganized and disinterested. Food is "blah". My friend ordered a fish-and-chips that was not really fried and had a slimy, almost non-existent batter coating the fish. Another time I ordered a lamb burger rare and it came well done. Don't expect much from the cooks here.

Beer-wise, they have around 20 taps, but nothing really exciting. There is always an IPA or two (Founders All Day seems to be a staple), and the occasional goody (Bitches Brew was listed on the website recently), but most of the taps are occupied by inoffensive brews and lots of macros. The bottle selection is better but, again, still not attractive. No good beer under seven dollars.

This place should probably not even be listed on BA. As it is, I recommend it only as a last-resort kind of thing. If you happen to be strolling around Harlem with the family and/or kids, starving and so thirsty you are ready to settle for almost anything...

This place is 3 blocks away from my new job, so I've been a couple of times. Good beer selection and decent bar food. I had a burger which was actually quite tasty. The only problem is that service is quite slow and confused.

This is the neighborhood's answer to Applebee's, and looks it. They have live music once or twice a week. Beer selection is heavy on the BMC and faux craft, and happy hour is limited to BMC beers (so you can pay $5 for your Bud Light instead of $6). There are always Harpoon IPA and a Hofbrau seasonal on tap, though. Food is decent but uninspired - good for kids, I suppose. The staff are all helpful and friendly, but all in all you're better off going to Bier International down the way.
