On the tourist drag, decent sized place with outside seating, provides a view onto the cheesy street scene. Music on the loud and obnoxious side. Decent service, so so food, my chicken was pretty good, but the wife's fish tacos were lame. Respectable beer list, including the usual Colorado good stuff. You will be able to enjoy quality beer, but the food and atmosphere left a lot of room for improvement. Worked in a pinch, but lots of more enjoyable options are also within easy walking distance

We were hungry and getting desperate. As the clock passed 11pm, the three of us walked down 16th St looking for something to satisfy our stomachs. We weren't sure if beer would be on the agenda, cuz we had already toured four different breweries that day. We saw Paramount Cafe and decided to give it a try. Perhaps a hot sandwich would cure us three.

There's a seperate room that looked comfortable (with a sofa and coffee table), but the main room was with the oval shaped bar and the basic tables and chairs. We thought we could decide where we sat (we didn't initially see a hostess), so when started to sit at the sofa, we were asked if we had been shown where to sit. Bummer. So, we got to sit clsoe to the bar. A long sign welcoming us the GABF week gave us the idea to try a beer or two. And with 30+ options from draft (including special Avery beers exclusive for GABF), we couldn't go wrong.

We asked our waitress for a beer list and we got one. She also cautioned us that the kegs had been blowing like crazy all day. We saw some of the drafts had been killed, but still featured options from Ska, Stone, Widmer, Odell, Boulevard, and Dofgish Head. I asked for special version of the Avery IPA....gone. Ok, how bout Ska's IPA? Wait, wait, wait...I get my elk burger (it was good BTW), but where's the beer. I finally receive my beer (it was good, BTW), and I realize the large crowds in Denver during the week, but I think I could have been served my beer faster than that.

16th St has a number of options, and Paramount Cafe fills the niche for simple food and good beer. Despite a late arriving beer, I would recommend the place.
