Went there on a Wednesday afternoon a few weeks ago. There was a retirement do going on, so the place was jumping, a fairly old school bar

All beers we tasty & fresh

Service was prompt, friendly & welcoming

Beers were reasonably priced & there was a lovely selection, over 24 drafts to include Revolution

Well worth checking out if in downtown Waukesha!

Stopped in here for a pint after looking up their webpage. BA doesn’t have a ton of reviews but I was staying outside of Milwaukee and loathe going in to Milwaukee during baseball games for beer.
This was a pleasant surprise. 9 of the 24 lines were local WI beers which was very cool. I’m not talking all new glarus. They only had one but had some selections in bottles. They also had 2 beer camp selections which was pretty cool. Alpha King, BackMasking, and epic brainless rounded out an amazing beer list. All were served in appropriate glassware by a knowledgeable bartender.
Ambiance has the feel of a large warehouse with a restaurant inside. Probably about 10 tables along with 4 beer garden style picnic tables. Bar has about 16 seats and is huge. It was pretty empty on a Tuesday night. The bar supposedly gets busy on Thursday and Fridays and they have live music.
Overall it was a good place to do some work and have some amazing beers. If you are west of Milwaukee, and looking for a great beer selection, it's definitely worth the trip. Plus there is plenty of free parking. The food is meh but you go here for the beer anyways.

This is the absolute best place to go in Waukesha for beer. In the past month I've had Three Floyd's Zombie Dust and War Mullet--both very hard to find beers. They have a wide variety on tap and rotate often. The place hasn't totally found it's groove yet, but it keeps improving. The service is much better now as the quality of the bartenders is approaching the quality of the beer. What food they have is very good. I could see the menu expanding as business grows.

This has quickly become my favorite spot for a beer in Waukesha.

I have visited Bernie's a handful of times since its opening. The previous business that occupied the building was a small grocery store, hence the double sliding doors near the entrance. The atmosphere is nice with its high ceilings, cream city brick wall behind the bar and open concept. One knock - they need to get rid of the padded chairs that look like something you'd find in a bingo hall. Quality and selection is very good - they have a variety of beers on tap to appease just about any beer drinker sans the BMC crowd. The food menu is somewhat limited but what is there is all worth trying. Prices for the food seem reasonable but some of the beers can get a bit pricey ($7 pints are not unusual). Overall this is a nice place to hang out and have a few beers with friends. Downtown Waukesha needed a place like this.

Bernie's Tap Room and Restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Waukesha, WI. The building was initially constructed as a furniture factory and store in the late 1890's. The building has tall ceilings and a huge bar backed by an exposed stone wall. Two 60 inch TV's by the bar and a 10 foot projection screen TV are pretty cool for watching football, etc.

Food consists of flatbread pizza, sliders, salads and other light casual selections.

The focus at Bernie's is the 24 taps allocated to the whole spectrum of craft beers (since this is Milwaukee one tap is to Miller Lite).

Dragons Milk heads the fine Porter, Stout and Strong Ale category.

Alpha King is one of the strong IPA's in the stable.

Follow it up with Lazy Monk Pilsner and Baaad Boy from Three Sheeps and others and you have a pretty eclectic bunch of tasty brews. This is my favorite place - great fun people and great beer.
