Brew guru there is a great dude to talk to, they have some bottles that are extremely hard to find on the east coast or even in this country. Had to stop in quick, but could spend a while in here going through their assortment. Was really fun to talk about brewing and get some good reccomendations for bars/breweries around Portland.

A nice little hole in the wall within a hole in the wall in downtown Portland. A bit hard to find as there wasn't any noticeable sign anywhere. After searching for beverage centers on Google, this place popped up. After driving around looking for it we decided to call the store to see if they existed. The girl who answered was very friendly and ended up greeting us after we arrived to the somewhat busy store. The store was within another store which was very crowded. It was a market/deli and the beer store was inside of it at the other end. Parking was also challenge and it seemed that you either had to find metered parking or pay like $6-$10 to park in a garage. Since we were just going into a store for less than ten minutes to buy a couple six packs, we opted to park illegally. The selection was actually kind of slim, however we went into there with a "when in Rome" state of mind and it ended up working out just fine as they had a very heavy local Maine selection in which we selected two 6 packs. Other than that they had a your mass produced beers and a few other New England beers and the staples, Sierra Nevada, etc. in the cooler. On the wrack they seemed to have a decent selection of imports. The rest of the beverage center consisted of wine and spirits. Judging from the look of it they had a solid selection of the two of those as well. Prices were fair.

Visited on a Wednesday afternoon. In the back of a pizza/deli place. I was confused at first.

This place is downtown and super convenient so this is a good stop if you need some local breweries to take home or something for your hotel room, but it is not the be all/end all bottle store.

V - Metal rack shelving with some cooler. Comes off as a low end grocery store. Clean, well lit. Organization seemed a bit haphazard. 3.25

Q - About half of the available beer was in coolers. About half of the beer on the shelves could also be found cold. Did not see any evidence of out of date beers (IPAs, etc.) 3.75

Ser - Encountered three different employees and each offered to help, discuss a beer, etc. All very friendly. 4

Sel - A good selection of Maine and local Portland beers, but not all encompassing. For instance, no Sebago or Bissel to be found. Some of the more common breweries from across the US (Lagunitas, Stone, DFH) as well as some good, if not common, German beers. 3.75
