Had a chance to be an overall decent beer, but in this offering, Anthem has unwittingly discovered the formula for the scent of urinal cakes...I wish I were joking.

Crisp with front with heavy coriander hit, citrus grab with a pepper spice finish. It's a journey.
Taste Rating in Words: iI leads with a hay-maker, goes for a gut punch and follows with some small jabs, leaving you with aches pains, and glory.

As wits go this isn't one of the best but not bad. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Smell is strong coriander and pepper. Taste isn't bad citrus and spice but a little more carbonation than I like. Overall a good beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of wheat and citrus. Taste is wheat, a bit heavy handed on the coriander, light lemons, not as refreshing as I expect from this style. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

In 40+ years of beer drinking, this was my FIRST drain pour. Two cans.
Its not that the style evades my palette - this stuff was absolutely awful. Maybe something was wrong with what I got.
The biggest problem was simply the taste, which was mainly characterized by a sour-stale-rotting flavor and smell. Must have been defective, because I can't believe Anthem would be canning something like this.

Received as an extra in a trade. Kind of got lost in the fridge....realistically this is a year old.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a hazy golden hue with a thin head that fades rapidly to leave light wisps and a thin halo.
S - Aromas of faint coriander, banana, little bit of bread, wheat.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, light coriander, banana, wheat, bread. Sweet malts, vegetative.
M - Mouthfeel is brightly carbonated, crisp, some alcohol too.
O - Overall this beer was messy and underwhelming. Not sure how much age had to play though after looking at some of these reviews.

Pours to a sudsy white head that falls to thin ring with minimal lace. Cloudy gold. Aroma is strong on coriander, with orange peel and a good whiff of chamomile. Flavor is strong on the herbs and spices with a orange chamomile tea finish. Refreshing mouthfeel. A very good wit.

Pours a hazy golden-orange with a fluffy white head that keeps growing after it is poured.
Smells of orange and wheat notes.
Tastes of orange layered with a spices and wheat. Orange peel notes lead off with some sweetness to it. This gives way to the coriander and chamomile. A bit of wheat sharpness comes towards the backend. Finishes with some lingering orange notes.
Mouthfeel is medium-light with a creamy amount of carbonation.
Overall, this is a solid witbier, but it is too one note for me.

A-Cloudy bright yellow, nice carbonation but a head that does not last long.
S-Lemon, wheat, tad bit of grassy spices.
T-Slight lemon, mainly wheat, tad bit of orange.
M-Lighter, not much carbonation though.
O-A beer whose flavors are decent but not good and are not that strong either.

Appearance- A murky golden/yellow color with tons of sediment. Pours a vivacious soapy white head at about two fingers.
Aroma- Very nice aroma of spices and fruit which blend nicely and forewarn whats to come.
Taste- First sip reveals a big hit of oranges and coriander, as advertised, with spices adding a nice zing in the finish. A cracker/bread malt adds great flavor to this and help balance out the spice in the finish. Not sure what the role Chamomile played in this brew since I'm not familiar with the flavor, but apparently its used in other witbiers as well.
Feel- Decent amount of carbonation. This beer is very smooth and almost creamy which makes for a very pleasant beer to drink.
Overall- A very nice witbier with plenty of spice and orange flavors to remain true to style and then some. A style that really isn't brewed enough, and one that gets a poor misrepresentation from Blue Moon, so its great to see a local made witbier from one of the few Oklahoma craft breweries. At 6 bucks for 4 pack this is a great deal, and the quality of this beer makes it a must buy. (85/100)

Pours a hazed pear color with 2 fingers of eggshell colored head. Average lacing & faint head retention
S: Coriander, a butt load of orange peel, breadyness & perfumy notes
T: Follows the nose, rich pear notes as well up front. Much orange peel & some orange sweetness, plus coriander & chamomile once warm. Finishes with orange, orange, pears & coriander & a little dryness
MF: Light/medium bodied, lively carbonation
This beer has charmed me, a little off centered take on the style, but totally drinkable, I would buy this again; easily my favorite of the 3 canned offerings

more of a wit type than anything else i reckon here. its got all the requisite components, and some fun additives like coriander and chamomile, which give the beer a bright herbal character thats refreshing for summer and endearingly different from others like it. pale yellow in color with a tall and lasting white head. the nose is very herbaceous, short of vegetal, but leafy and more tea-like than many of its peers. wheat and pale malt base keep it light but frothy in feel, carbonation is lively, and it feels great going down, super easy. the yeast is interesting here, a little belgian but not loaded with fruity esters or anything, just really vigorous fermentation i imagine has left this dry and sugarless, while carbonating it very well. chamomile is dominant in the finish, and there is a lemon note running through it too, perfect warm weather brew, and something i would probably buy regularly if it were commercially available in colorado. i also had the pleasure of meeting the brewers at anthem, who are charismatic and engaging individuals putting out some really cool beer. who knew? this was the first i had heard of them, and it was a great first impression. lovely beer this one.
