Pours an effervescent bronze with tons of cream colored head ( perhaps a more restrained pour next time??). Average head retention & lacing

S: Bready, a little metallic hops, grassy & toasty once warm

T: Follows the nose, a little lemon & dryness as well up front. Some toastyness as this warm, a little toffee & leafy, plus metallic hops as well once warm, Finishes toasty with sweet breadyness & a little grassy hop

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, good balance

Pretty good for the style, drinkable enough

Pours to a creamy head that falls to a thin ring but does leave some leopard-spot lacing. Color is a very hazy copper which looks bad for a commercial Vienna or Marzen. Aroma is toasty/malty with a touch of noble herbal hops and a hint of sweet smoke. Flavor is a tasty blend of toasted Munich or Vienna malts and a balancing charge of appropriate noble hops. Aside from the lack of polish in the eyeball category, it's a great tasting beer that pairs great with German fare.

Bitter. Disgusting. Undrinkable. I tried this beer foo the first time recently and was shocked at the poor level of craftsmanship. No body. No taste. Disappointing.

Poured into a dimpled mug.

Look: The beer is a caramel color with a light cream colored head that recedes to a film, leaving nice sheets of lacing.

Aroma: Sweet malts up front with a surprising fruitiness about it before transitioning classic toffee and caramel aromas.

Taste: Subtle bready malts up front with light toffee following. A tangy, black tea kind of finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: I thought I'd like this after the first few sips, but I started dissecting it and it went downhill from there.

On tap at McNellie's OKC. Pours a murky copper with a slight off-white head. It smells of bready malts, tobacco and leather. Tastes of lightly toasted wheat and some fruit in the background. Mouth is medium thick and creamy. This is true to style and seriously quaffable.

Murky copper with a thin wispy head that awakens with a few swirls of the glass. Pretty heavy on the "graininess" and not super caramelly like a lot of American versions (this is a good thing). Dry and crisp for the style while maintaining some creaminess. Hops are pretty mild...faintly herbal at most. Straightforward but nice in terms of flavor, just doesn't quite look the part. Appearance generally doesn't factor too much in my beer enjoyment but in a German-style lager I certainly favor clarity and a big frothy head. Worth a try since it's from a solid local brewery and has a nice flavor profile but it needs some work.

Thanks to RedhawkPoke for this one, NBS BIF #6. 12oz can poured into 12oz tulip. Poured a lightly hazy orange-ish amber color, with about 1/2 inch of off-white head that moderate retention and decent lacing.

A slightly sweet, grainy malt aroma greets the nose, with just a bit of grassy hops in the background. The flavor profile is pretty similar, with the that full grain taste leading, and the hops showing up brighter and crisper.

The body was medium, and had a crisp, dry finish. Drinkability was very good, I could easily see knocking back a few of these in-season. Overall, a very nice brew, certainly worth your time if you see it.
