Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned October 24th 2022.
A gleaming mix of haze and glow. Not quite clear but with a real beautiful orange amber and dark brass shine. Lots of nice fine carbonation as well. The head is bold and big. Four to three easy fingers with super fine bright white bubbles. Creamy topped and thick with island puck and big retention. Looks fantastic.
The aroma is even better. Big rushing notes of dank but a real exotic tropical fruit punch that hits with a fury. Weedy fruits, a touch of mango and papaya with lots of weedy earth tones in excellent balance. A real musty almost sweet cedar quality as well, which is another welcome addition on the nose.
This is superb on the palate. Creamy rich with an exceptional mix of light touches but juicy richness in feel and flavor. And boy does that hop character explode. Rich candied tropical fruits of papaya and melon, even some touching pineapple. Light earthy tones and an almost fruit punch coupling with a soft bitterness for ridiculous easy drinking. Some of the cream and softness even gets vanilla out of the flavor, slashing a real soft earth and mellow tropical rush.
This is almost like a push for New England revision clarity, mixing earthy and tropical creamy bitterness, without all the sugar and turbid good. Well done.

Heavy hitter but smooth drinker. Malt-forward but good hop presence. Goes down easy for 10.2%.

A: The beer is very hazy and a bit pale dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a narrow collar around the edge, a thin head covering the surface and thick lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit and orange citrus and present in the nose along with some bits of pine.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that there are stronger underlying flavors of caramel malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: You can definitely get a sense that this is a strong IPA given its malt base and the hints of alcohol but it is still rather drinkable considering its strength.

I tried this beer at the Columbus location/pub as part of a four sample flight. It poured a hazy golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had very good tropical fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. There was nice sweet malt base with bold tropical fruit presence and clean hop finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

This is one of the best IPAs I've had in a while, and, you know, I drink a lot of different ones. This really kicks butt.
We were at the downtown Columbus restaurant last weekend and I picked up this lovely double AIPA with true double proportions of aroma, taste and an amazing feel experience. This is what they are supposed to do.
Highly recommended.

A: Pours a lightly hazy medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate pale orange + honey + apricot colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy pillowy foamy very light beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of jammy citrus/orange + citrus/tangerine + citrus/grapefruit + tropical/pineapple + dank/resinous hops over the top of moderate aromas of bready + toasted + caramel + toffee malts with moderate amounts of caramel + toffee sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + toasted + caramel + toffee malts with moderate amounts of caramel + honey + toffee sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of jammy citrus/orange + citrus/tangerine + citrus/grapefruit + tropical/pineapple + dank/resinous hops which impart a moderate amount of lingering aggressive bitterness along with lighter flavors of lingering tropical hops and booziness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a bit of chewiness mid-body and a slick finish. Light amounts of alcohol warming.
O: Drinks fairly easily but there is a fair amount of booziness in this brew - from the warming in the mouthfeel to the taste. Enjoyable hop profile with citrus + tropical + dank resinous flavors and aromas.
