Wow... This hides its 8.3% ABV like its nothing. Super clean and light bodied with hint of tropical fruit. Citrus, papaya, and pineapple. A "light" well balanced Double IPA.

Partly cloudy, slightly pale gold. Not nearly as murky as their other beers. Decent amount of off white foam on top that disappears completely into the beer.

Smells like sweet and tropical fruits along with some pink bubble gum and a distinct yeast aroma.

Very fruity. Orange, pineapple, peach, red grapefruit, and again, some sweet pink bubble gum. Decent amount of resin but not a lot of bitterness. Some spicyness from the hops. Flavors fall a little flat in the aftertaste.

Medium body. Has an oat like fullness feel with some slightly prickly carbonation.

Excellent beer. Lacking a bit in flavor depth maybe. Comes across as an imperial version of Musk of the Minotaur to me.

16 oz can. Pours hazy golden orange with puffy thick white head, lasts forever, rings of lace. Aroma is combo of dank weedy hops n citrus. Dank bitter weedy pine taste with some grapefruit peel presence. Slightly sweet toasted malt backbone. Thin slippery mouthfeel. Overall very taste DIPA by Hoof.

Can poured into pint glass. I expected a hazy golden color and instead was surprised by an rather clear golden color. Smells of lemon, grapefruit and hops. The first sip bites like a DIPA with pungent hops and citrus but mellows quickly; lays nicely on the palate. Well done!!

L: Pours a pale golden yellow with a minimal but dense head.

S: Smell is wonderful. Lemon, grapefruit and piney hops.

T: Taste matches the smell with the addition of a super light and fresh plum note. Unbelievably smooth for an 8%+ ABV. No booziness. Fresh juice!

F: Under-carbonated but it works well here. Slightly dry finish.

Overall this one is a total treasure. I would put this up there with the greats for an IPA. It tastes so fresh and clean and it's so easy to drink it's like drinking juice. The can rocks too.

Enjoyed at a bottle share. Really nice pungent hop aromas fill the nose, the taste is also deliciously on the hop side of the spectrum without being too overbearing. Well done IPA.

Pours a nice golden orange with a bubbly white head. It is cloudy, but has nowhere near the haze of other HH offerings. The nose is fruity; orange and pineapple come to the front, but doesn't have a lot of punch. The taste is tropical fruits and citrus. Grapefruit, oranges, and pineapple are the main players, and the citrus hangs on the palate after each sip. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with good carbonation. Overall, this is another winner from HH, with loads of citrus and tropical fruits, a great mouthfeel and something you can drink far too many of in one sitting.

Surprisingly clear for Hoof Hearted, but still a little cloudy. Yellow, with a thin white head receding to a ring, spotty surface and a little lacing.

Citrusy hop aromas with a savory element in addition to the dankness, like oats with butter. There's a touch of onion as well.

Taste is lemony, tangy, tart even, with a slight sting on the tongue bringing it back into IPA land.

Semi-dry, thin and fizzy yet a little frothy.

16 oz can into tulip glass.

L. Light light orange. Full haze with one finger head of large bubbles. Moderate lacing.
S. Nice ripe pinneapple, ripe mango, and maybe even some banana? But that could be the color that's sending me through a loop.
T. Some nice hops and pine up front that transition on to some sweet malts and tropical fruit notes. Sweetness lingers a bit through the finish. Really nice.
F. Lighter creamy mouthfeel with average carbonation.

Another Hoof DIPA!

Pours out a murky/hazy/turbid yellow/orange color with minimal head.

Aroma is juicy fruit, pineapple, tangerine, sweet orange, mango, peach and loads of other tropical & stone fruit notes too.

Taste follows with huge juicy, ripe pineapple, mango and tangerine notes. Big juicy fruit component, peach, more sweet orange. Insane amounts of tropical fruits abound.

Medium bodied, slightly creamy mouthfeel and totally hidden alcohol. Scary drinkable! Medium bitterness that dries out nicely.

A total juice bomb that disappears quickly. Wasn't sure what to expect and was blown away by this one! One of my new favorite beers from Hoof.

Far from my favorite from Hoof Hearted. Looks much lighter than expected, not as fully trub-shake opaque as some of their other beers. Aroma comes on strong with tropical fruit but it quickly shifts into a rotten fruit / over-ripe mode ... sticky fermented fruit, herbal notes like mint / thyme / bay leaf. There is appeal there but a question mark hovers and the flavor answers that question unfavorably. It becomes increasingly undrinkable the more you consume. Experientially, I'm reminded of being in the tropics where I once toured a spice plantation. Fallen fruit littered the ground ... the warmth of the underbrush, the fruit rotting in the sun, the assault of unfocused aromas from mixed flora ... excessive and overwhelming.

I suppose being named after a wanker guitar solo tool that's more about style than substance, excessive and overwhelming may be what they're going for. If you're the type of person that longs for the post-Van Halen cold war of guitar pyrotechnics, this is the hoppy beer for you!

More delicious hop juice from HH. While visually cloudy and a weaker nose, this DIPA packs in the floral, citrusy hops - with all the patented HH taste.

This is the 2nd Oatmeal IPA I have tasted - first Oatmeal Double IPA. The look is very cloudy. The mouth feel is robust & full bodied. Very pronounce citrus flavoring, bitter after taste. Very enjoyable.

1 PINT can
Served in a tulip glass

It typical Hoof Hearted fashion this beer pours like a hefe weizen or pineapple juice. It is very cloudy and topped with a couple inches of off white head that leaves some pretty good lacing.

I get a healthy dose of citrus and tropical fruit in the aroma. There is also a little dank smell.

It starts out with citrus and finishes with pine.

Medium mouthfeel

This is the first Hoof Hearted beer that I had ever tried a couple years ago. It is good to have it in the can. It is not quite as remarkable as I recall, but I am a grumpy old man now.

Canned 1/10; consumed 1/10 and again 1/11.
L: Pours a very murky orange with a slight tint of yellow-brown. No particles or anything, just murky. Definitely characteristic of what many are calling the "NE IPA."

S: Typical tropical notes of the style, leans more on pineapple than orange, but certainly elements of both. Little to no piney, resiny smell; fruit dominates.

T: Follows the taste. A very slight bitterness at the end that dissipates quickly. Overall, incredible taste!

F: Feels nice.

O: A great DIPA of the sub-style. Would have preferred more brightness than the dull look it has, but if that's the only downside, I'm fine with that.

Fresh can from the release on 1/10/16. Cloudy would be an understatement - this looks like orange juice/pineapple juice. Smells like pineapple. Very thick mouthfeel from the oats and lack of filtration. Another awesome offering from hoof hearted.

First tried the morning canning off the line before the can even had a top
very cloudy and yellow/orange looks like orange juice ( and almost tastes such)
aroma is juicy hops
Taste is lots of juiciness from the hops but not much bitterness from the hops until way on the back end. its almost mild at least for this type of very strong juicy IPA. this is probably due to the Oatmeal added which is nearly non-existent in the taste.
overall- amazing beer, a bit different but i put this and Konky on a level with second fiddle and mastermind. really glad I got a case. if you have a chance to get this DO IT!

Really nice aroma coming off of this with notes of orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime and some dankness. The oats used in this beer give it a creamy mouthfeel and make it super drinkable. Canned a day ago at the release. Really nice DIPA.
