Really, really good. How's that for a review?
Cloudy, with a chance of me buying more. Sweet. Grapefruit taste without acidity. Kind of flows into a soft banana flavor.
Also, soft banana flavor is my next band name.

There was a day when brewers were regularly accused of adding flour or other adjuncts for cloudiness. This would be suspect.
It pours a milky light yellow with constant fizz emanating from the bottom. The aroma is a little cleaner and less skunky than most hazy IPAs. Likewise the taste features the bizarre oat taste. Otherwise, it is like any other outstanding hazy IPA, with not too much bittering but loads of hops and a fairly clean finish.
Hightlyl recommended. I hope to see more Hoof Hearted IPAs like this one (I am sure I will).

I’m still working through my BIF beers from the generous @Eziel, but I’m mostly sticking with the less legendary stuff first. But boy, did he send me some big time wants. Anyhow, this one is a DIPA brewed with oats, which I tend to be a sucker for. Let’s crack it open
Pours a hazy pale yellow with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
Based off the nose, this is giving the impression that it’ll have a little more sharpness than the looks led me to believe. I’m picking up on aromas of orange juice, lemon zest, white pepper, crackery malt, pithy grapefruit, and resinous hops
As expected, there’s a bit of bite to this. That’s not to say it’s not juicy, just not what I expected going in. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lemon zest, tangerine, bready malt, peppery hops, and light pineapple. The swallow brings notes of creamy doughy malt (there’s the oat vibe), orange juice, white pepper, pineapple, and resinous hops
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes quite dry and balanced. Superbly drinkable
Well, the oats didn’t make this super creamy or promote the juicy vibe a ton, but it made for a beer that drinks well below its abv. Very good

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store just around the corner. It poured a hazy golden with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had dank citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bold ripe dank citrus presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Hoof Hearted Brewing "Wängbär"
16 fl. oz. can, "Canned On: 11/26/2019" and sampled on 01/20/2020
$4.99 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: You've got to give them credit for an amusing name and flashy packaging. The beer's a murky yellow with a kind of orange sheen at the widest point of the glass. The head is a short cap of white but doesn't seem to want to stick around. It looks like a glass of "extra pulp" orange juice. I understand the murkiness because, let's face it, it is an "Oat Double India Pale Ale" after all, but I'm not sure why the head retention isn't better. The aroma is juicy and tropical with notes of mango, pineapple, and citrus as well as some resin and pine. There's some distinctly grainy malt there as well. It's a little unusual, and I'm guessing that's the oats that I'm smelling. On to the flavor... it's brightly fruity, a little sweet, resinous, raspy with an edge of alcohol, and piney. How strong is this? Just 8.3%? I feel like the alcohol is coming through a little bit too clearly, although now that I think about it that is fairly high. I'm not sure. But what about the fruity hop notes? The mango remains, as does the citrus (grapefruit, orange, lime) and the pine but I'm not getting a lot of pineapple. Ahhh, I guess it's there. Anything else?... Yep, some guava, passionfruit, and papaya. A firm bitterness runs straight through it, balancing the sweetness of the malt, drying it in the finish, and then leaving it to linger along with some residual fruit, pine, and alcoholic spiciness. It's not subtle but neither would I say it's too brash. Let's just call it aggressive and drink up. In the mouth it's medium-light in body but with the suggestion of a fuller feel due to the extra proteins from the oats. A gently crisp carbonation is key here as if it was crisper that alcohol would probably become a bit much. In the end it all comes together like falling down the stairs and somehow still landing on your feet.
