Notes:
Based off of our Konkey Dong core recipe, we also added massive amounts of Wildflower Honey. We dry hopped this pig with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe.

Keys for me: masked ABV and the honey flavor. Didn’t think the honey would mesh with the juice, and it did without losing its essence. Smooth drinking from my favorite NE style makers outside of the NE area.

I'm a big fan of this brewer, but that doesn't mean blind faith, they get a pass. This brew, along with three others from Hoof Hearted came in today at Save On and Wally is nice enough to notify any of us customers who are interested about such fine arrivals. I bought a mess of them, all IPAs of some kind. I needed some like this - all that was left in my fridge was non-perishable brews (or less perishable).
This one is impressively cloudy, with some head. The aroma hits the room. It is profound, bold, loud and proud. The taste is hopped up and malty. Bitter, sweet, and thick on the tongue.
Highly recommended. I thought this was the littlest of the multitude of Hoof Hearted brews I picked up today. It is HUGE. Now I expect to be floored by the others. These brewers are now THE AIPA (and hazy) brewers for me. Although they can do other styles, they excel at these straight-up American cloudy hop bombs! Kudos!

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store located just around the corner. It poured a hazy golden with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had bitter berry and sweet malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tart berry zeal and subtle honey for balance. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Zipper Ripper pours a murky orangish amber with full yellowish head, similar to meringue. The smell is a potpourri of citrus and tropical fruits with a gentle honey sweetness and a bit of floral essence. Taste is well balanced with an orange and pineapple up from, with a bit of zest, putting some zing on the palette. Smooth with a nice pine characteristic with just a hint of wildflowers and honey.

Cloudy, pale orange color with a finger head and spotty lacing. Sweet citrus and floral aromas with a hint of vanilla. Flavors of orange juice, vanilla with bitter orange rind and resin. The sweet fruit and bitter hops are totally balanced. Very creamy in texture with smooth carbonation.

So, is that another imperial IPA in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? It turns out that the Hoff Hearted brewers are bursting at the seams to give their Konky Dong imperial IPA a one over with wildflower honey and a disgusting level of Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe in its late additions.
Turbidly amber, the beer strikes a resemblance with whipped egg yolks along with a creamy and tall meringue. Its very generous scent billows onto the nose with a boisterous perfume of citrus, tropical fruit and a strong herbal presence. Gentle sweetness seems innocent enough with a poundcake consistency, honey sweetness and light caramel.
While the sweetness creeps onto the middle palate, its floral aromas retain similar flavors with the honey extending long and lean onto the tongue. Meanwhile, the hops glow unapologetically with a burst of tangerine, blood orange and mandarin along with complementing citrus flavors of lime, white grapefruit and yuzu. Its juicy and acidic twang comes with a balance from tropical fruit impressions of passionfruit, pineapple, mango, apricot and papaya. A late palate of bitterness is smooth and herbal with hints of chive, lemon verbena, matcha tea, hemp and an overall grassy balance.
Medium full in body, the rich IPA allows its malt and honey to retain a bolder grain presence and sweetness deeper into the taste than usual. A bittersweet finish and malty dry body has this full flavored beer to retain a balance and succulence that's not likely to leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
