Massive stout. The usual big roasted malt with the added nicely added notes of vanilla, Sumatran coffee and a touch of sweet maple. This is a keeper.

1 PINT can
Served in a snifter
2017

This beer pours what appears to be black until held to the light. Then ruby highlights are visible. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

The smell is rich with chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt.

The taste starts out with chocolate. Then I get some booze and roasted malt. The finish and dark chocolate and coffee.

Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

This is a big, full bodied stout with great flavor and easy drinking considering the abv. It does have enough booziness to remind you of its power though.

16oz can dated 6/28/19.

Pours oily black with zero head or retention. Kahlua, maple, espresso, and chocolate syrup in the nose. Full bodied with a slick, oily mouthfeel. Booze-spiked dark chocolate with rich coffee on the palate. Finishes fairly dry with lingering roast, coffee, chocolate, and warming alcohol.

16 ounce can, Batch #20180205 (I'm guessing it was canned on February 5, 2018). Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch creamy tan head that stuck around for a long time. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like coffee, maple, burnt/charred malt, vanilla, and some chocolate. Taste is pretty much like the aroma, with some molasses and caramel noticeable too. I think the coffee/roastiness is stronger compared to the other flavors, but the sweet flavors are still there. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a little creamy and slick with a good amount of carbonation. Not as boozy as I expected for being 14% ABV. I thought this was a pretty good imperial stout, definitely worth picking up!

Typical imperial stout looks with an incredible nose that smells like a barrel aged stout with fresh Starbucks coffee grinds dumped in it. Roasty and full of char, this is a coffee bomb with a hint of vanilla. Tastes as good as it smells everything from the nose plus the additions of dark chocolate, maple syrup, charred wood, smoke, toasted grains and espresso beans. An excellent overall brew that had zero indication of the 14% ABV.

L- Pours a dark, thick black with a tinge of brown head visible on first pour.

S- The coffee is most noticeable with just a slight boozy smell. Definitely a strong beer.

T- First sip, while still cold, was a lot of coffee and not much else. I let it warm-up a bit and could notice more of the vanilla and just a bit of maple.

F- It's a thick beer. The coffee stays around longer than the other flavors.

O- It's a tasty beer. Drinks very well.

Poured from a can into a snifter glass. Big foamy head looked like a dark brown frothy cappuccino foam atop some black coffee. Smell is big maple sugar and booze when poured but evolved to strong creamy vanilla coffee as it warmed. Taste was all booze and maple sugar at first, almost off putting how prevalent the cloying maple notes were. As it warmed up though, like the nose, the maple faded out in favor of a rich nutty coffee character, made even smoother by the vanilla- resulting in a creamy chocolate mocha vibe. Extremely tasty. Very smooth texture to help this one ease down. An all-day supper for me with the masked high ABV. Great beer. Cheers!
