Can not dated. Poured into Belgian tulip.
Look is lightly hazy light yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is pineapple juice, stone fruit, berry, no hop tint to any of the notes either like is the usual, seems like actual juice. Taste is similar but is even more pineapple forward, like a pineapple juice blend without the sweetness, again no hop tint to it, very lightly bitter and medium dry finish, lingering pineapple. Mouthfeel is medium and not creamy, pretty standard. Overall this my first beer with only bru-1 hops, but if this is any indication it seems like they’re pure pineapple bomb material, but without any dankness or grassiness or any other tint to the smell or taste that usually appears with fruity hops. Either way this is a one dimensional but very tasty and easy to drink brew. Good stuff.

Clean and fruit forward, the Bru-1 hops are among the most coveted of all hop varieties, but not every brewer gets to brew with them. But the Hoof Hearted team scores enough of them to celebrate them in an imperial IPA that celebrates the hop variety in a way that no one else can. It's clear that everybody wants some.

And as the "Everybody Wants Some" series treks along, its the Bru-1 hops that give the beer its uniqueness and that all starts with a fruit filled blend of citrus and stone fruit aromatics. Lightly vegetal and herbal, the enticing scent hovers above a deep, off turbid haze of golden orange and a heady froth that stands tall throughout. Its first sip is candied with honeysuckle, shortcake and a juicy fruit-like maltiness.

As the ale opens up on the middle palate the hops shine with a blend of grapefruit, lemon and under ripened oranges before trailing into an apricot, peach and cantaloup taste. Drying quicker than is usual for the series, the smooth but quick bitterness is decorated with elements of lemon pepper, sun tea and an herbal array of chive, hemp and hay.

Medium bodied, the beer's juicy character gives way to the drying nature of hops for a refreshing finish but also one of limited culinary adventure, roundness and any extension of fruit. A medium length aftertaste of botanical bitterness lasts just beyond the fruit peels and juicy nature overall.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, plum, pear, apricot, raspberry, blueberry, currants, pineapple, red apple, mango, honeydew, watermelon, guava, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, plum, pear, apricot, raspberry, blueberry, currants, pineapple, red apple, mango, honeydew, watermelon, guava, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, plum, pear, apricot, raspberry, blueberry, currants, pineapple, red apple, mango, honeydew, watermelon, guava, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors;very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, great soft feel. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with an awesome balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected. I have had Bru-1 before, but never by itself. Really unique profile of stone fruit/berry intensity.

Pours a hazy and foggy orange with a finger of white head. Head retention is good. Transparency drops to a light murky when the final ounces are poured into the glass. Aroma is tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, grassy and spicy hops and yeast. Flavor profile follows suit, with tangerine, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, stone fruit, grassy, medicinal, and spicy hops and a big kick of yeast at the finish. Mouth feel opens up a little harsh via carbonation, and then softens up a touch. As the beer warms, the initial harshness drops off for a more soft texture. It has a medium thickness. Overall, hop notes improve as the beer warms slightly out of the fridge.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 16oz can.

S - Aroma is very delicate with pineapple and stone fruit.

T - Big pineapple presence along with stone fruit and some light spiciness. Overall, very fruity.

M - Medium body and finishes very wet with a tiny bit of alcohol poking through. (Not much.)

O - The hops used in this beer is very unique and different from just about any I've experienced so far. Worth a try.
