My first beer poured into the new Spiegelau Dogfishhead IPA glasses so was looking forward to the experience. A - slightly hazy amber in the glass with a head that diminished but I think the glass was very effective in replenishing it after every sip. S - aroma had a bit of happiness in there but I was surprised at how much fruitiness was coming through. T - taste follows the smell and again the amount of sweet fruity flavours seemed a bit atypical for the style. Slightly dry hoppy finish but I probably would have appreciated a bit more. Alcohol level is pretty well disguised. M - decent carbonation and mouthfeel but nothing interesting to report. M - decent beer but there are many better IPAs around so I probably wouldn't feel inclined to have it again.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 12/9/2014. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, honey, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, honey, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, pine, caramel, honey, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, balance, and robustness of citrus/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good American IPA. All around good complexity, balance, and robustness of citrus/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. This seemed to have some English style influence in flavors, but still felt like an American IPA overall. A nicely enjoyable offering.

A: Pours amber to gold with a slight haze. 2” off-white foam collar hugs the glass producing excellent lace.
S: Floral, spice, pine, grapefruit, light malts.
T: Starts with light fruit and some caramel flowing into a grapefruit bitterness and dries out on the finish.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation to slightly above medium
O: An easy drinking India pale ale that that blends Brittish and North American qualities.

Dundee India Pale Ale - Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, it's gota two finger thick lumpy off-white head, droopy lacing, and a medium-dark amber body.

Smells like rich malts, not quite roasted, but still very pleasing. I'm also noticing the whole cone hops used in this beer. Not too sharp; nice and clean.

Ok, I taste the exact same components as the aroma. Nothing too sharp or offensive with this brew.

Dundee India Pale Ale's mouthfeel is clean and refreshing. Nothing lingers with this brew.

Overall, a 4.5 is given to Dundee India Pale Ale - Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co. This is a fairly smooth IPA that still bring malt flavor to the table. I will buy this beer again.

Enjoyed form the 12 oz bottle in a snifter via a friend from work---THANKS RANDY!
This decent little IPA pours a clear copper tinged golden color with a very nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, nice big pool, and excellent lacing. Nose of subtle sweet honey touched malts, bittering hops, and light grain notes. Flavors follow but are better than the nose would imply with nice English malts, lightly toasted, touches of honey, and an earthy grain note that is complimented nicely by the bittering hop that is not overpowering for the style and solidly English in nature while made here is the US. Decent mouth feel, moderately carbonated, and a bitter finish with a decent malt backbone. Overall a decent session IPA.

One of my favorite beers.
Its a sustain-er for me and i could probably drink it all night at social gatherings. In fact, I've done that on many occasions.

Dundee India Pale Ale....

Appearance-pale golden orange, flushed head appears and then disspitates.

Smell-piney hop oil, some fruit and alcohol.

Taste/Mouthfeel-hops do appear strongly, cascade punch (probably from packets) alcohol and heavy carbonation, not very smooth, somewhat muddled.

Drinkability-a little light for an IPA, might work for more getting into the flavor.

Overall-a gateway IPA, it's not too bad especially for the price, but it also doesn't really measure up given how many fantastic IPAs are out there.

Bottle: Pretty funky label, at least it's different. Good quality 355mL brown bottle.

Appearance: clear amber colouring. I expected more haze. Decent frothy head with good retention.

Aroma: sweet citrus aromas with plenty of hops - lots and lots, per the style.

Taste: sweet malts and light grains, light orange, lemon and a little candy before a bitter finish.

Aftertaste: certainly brings the bitterness through, not much of the flavours left, but you get a good bitter kick

Mouth feel: somewhat lower carbonation, with a medium body. Surprised there isn't more carbonation to carry more hop flavours through.

Overall: grains and malts with citrus overtones. Very strong, per the American IPA style. I think this one might be a good one to use as a stepping-stone into the world of heavily hopped beers.

Appearance: Pours an amberesque body with a small, white head.

Smell: Plain pale malts with a backing of citrus fruitiness and a faint, faroff note of grain.

Taste: Pale maltiness with a restrained sweetness. Touch of grain astringency. Light citrus flavor paired with an herbal, tea-like component and a medium bitterness. Flourish of carbonation on the dry, lightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation, slightly fizzy.

Drinkability: Best so far of the JW Dundee's Box of Horrors, but that's not saying much.

Looks decent. Cleanly filtered copper colored body, and a finger thick off white head with decent retention.

Good amount of of spicy grapefruit hops with a hint of metallic hops.

Mild mannered citrusy hops and a god balance from the toffee taste from the malt.

Feels medium to full in body, mildly carbonated, and leaves the palate a little dry.

Look: Pours a copper/orange body, great 2 finger white foamy head that lasts the entire time I'm drinking. Great lacing down the whole glass.

Smell: Floral hops up front. I sense some grapefruit mostly.

Taste: Great balance! Nice calm bitter floral hops with a light malt backbone.

Mouth/Drink: Mouth is a bit thinner than I would of liked but it goes down easy, giving great drinkability.

Served in a pint.

A: pours a darker golden yellow color, clear, with a short white head with minimal lacing.

S: hops predominate, wheat, bread, barley, sort of faint aroma

T: basically wheat and grains with a tinge of hops, bit lacking, dull

M: kind of over carbonated, carbonation is out of proportion with the flavor

O: not horrible, could better. would have it again due to it's cheapness and drinkability but its just a run of the mill beer

Presentation: 12 oz longneck, twist. Clear label, typical Dundee's in a bright green color. No freshness dating, but the ABV is marked.

Appearance: Clear reddish orange color, medium sized head. Decent retention and lacing

Smell: Subdued aroma - a bit of spicy hops and some bready malt.

Taste: Hop flavor is not very pronounced, but there is a nice level of bitterness. This seems almost more like an ESB to me. Either way, very drinkable, and a decent amount of flavor going on.

Overall impression: Considering this beer is widely available and dirt cheap, this is a nice offering. Very drinkable, interesting enough to keep me coming back for more.

Poured into becker pint glass (from a twist-off bottle...shows what audience they're catering to); clear golden orange with a minimal white head that fades to a ring of foam almost instantly. Smell is toasted cereal malts, almost no hop smell present. Not a good start to an IPA...let's press on. Taste is just as weak as the smell; thin cereal grains are the malt flavor which dominates, no hop flavor at all except for a mild bitterness which is nearly pushed aside in the aftertaste by a corn-like flavor. Lacing is pretty nice...but otherwise this is a mess of a beer. Genessee should stick to the tasteless light lagers they know, because they are way out of their depth with any more respectable style.

Pours amber with a thin head. Smells grainy with strong but slight sour floral hops. The Taste is sour, with that distinctive Dundee house taste that is sour and slightly unpleasant. The mouthfeel is thin with an acidic aftertaste. This is not an actively offensive beer, but it is hardly a worthy entry into the great American IPA category.
