Wegmans in Ithaca had this selling for seven dollars a six-pack, and it's brewed in Rochester, so I had to try it. Poured into a pint glass, the bottle raised a fine creamy off-white head that persisted many minutes and laced the glass all the way down. Color an orange SRM 8 with light haze. Not much hops in the aroma: mostly bready malt and yeast smells there, but the bitter hops hit gently right away and coat the palate the way I like it. Mouthfeel is really great: crisp, yet a bit unctuous, leaving a hoppy aftertaste as if your tongue-hide had been gently tanned. I always have a hard time leaving the cost out of my tasting notes, and for sure the hopping in this Rochester IPA is not as elegant or complicated as it is in my favorite IPAs, but this is for sure one mighty excellent great deal for the money. If anybody knows of an IPA this good for $7 per sixpack, please let me know where to get it! I'm drinking my second bottle now with Buffalo Wing-flavored cheddar cheese curds and Snyder's beer pretzels. Yum!

Copper color decent head.
Aroma is of hops and malt with hint of fruit.
some hops present in taste.
balance way off.
malts seem to clash with hops. it was light bodied to medium.
Medium carbonation.

Excellent IPA and the best one so have found to date. Not as bitter as most, smooth and has a nice alcohol volume. Great price, you can't go wrong.

One of the few IPAs I have actually enjoyed. Not overpowering, nice and balanced. Tasty.
Look - honestly, I drank it straight from the bottle. It looks great in the bottle. Clear with a tiny bit of foam on top.
Smell - yummy, nice floral and pine notes are evident. The smell says "drink me!"
Taste - perfectly balanced, I think. Nice and refreshing. A bit sour like any good IPA, but not too sour. Quite a good balance here.
Feel - no complaints. Crisp and light. Definitely sessionable.
Overall - I am no fan of bitter IPAs, but this is a good one. I really enjoyed it. Way better than a Torpedo, and almost as good as Jai Alai in my opinion. For the price, it's beyond spectacular. Great job, Dundee!!!!
PS - i drank the English Ale and Porter from the sampler just before this one, so perhaps the way was paved for a good review. I don't understand some of the mediocre ratings on here. Dundee is a winner in my book, and it is what it is: simple and straightforward beer without any pretensions. Superb value for the $$$. Cheers!!!

Enjoyed form the 12 oz bottle in a snifter via a friend from work---THANKS RANDY!
This decent little IPA pours a clear copper tinged golden color with a very nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, nice big pool, and excellent lacing. Nose of subtle sweet honey touched malts, bittering hops, and light grain notes. Flavors follow but are better than the nose would imply with nice English malts, lightly toasted, touches of honey, and an earthy grain note that is complimented nicely by the bittering hop that is not overpowering for the style and solidly English in nature while made here is the US. Decent mouth feel, moderately carbonated, and a bitter finish with a decent malt backbone. Overall a decent session IPA.
Cheers

Comes in that golden/darker yellow color. 1/3" white head. Aroma actually revealed some dry hopping, probably Amarillos even. Impressed, relative to usual underwhelming offerings from said brewery.
Taste didn't bring the flavor though, wood notes from barley, didn't skimp malt wise even if it that isn't exactly my thing in this style. Came in earthy and balanced for the most part. Not my cup of tea, but this feels like it landed where they wanted it to.

Just a bland, mediocre IPA, not terrible but not very hoppy or citrusy with a watered-down light beer style flavor. Not unlike the Dundee porter, which came in the same $9.99 sampler box and wasn't anything special. Sad because the potential for a tasty IPA is there, why they watered it down is anyone's guess. At this price point it's a decent, drinkable beer but nothing you'd go out of your way to find.

Pours gold with a mostly transparent body, 3 fingers of head. Lace sparsely decorates the glass.
Again, a fairly malt-forward aroma. Not bad, as I lean more towards malty beers. Fresh grain, baked and toasted cereals, and a pinch of sweet fruity hop. As it warms I get a bit more of the armpit aromas.
The flavor is a bit of a clash unfortunately. Dundee's malt forward signature falls flat as it forces hop flavor to make up the difference. It comes off tasting a bit chalky and planty-sweet. It leaves a starchy, sticky, old harvest vegetable feeling at the back of the throat.
Feel is well-carbonated, but the finish is as mentioned, starchy and sticky and not pleasant at all. It reminds me of the aftercoat of cough syrup.
Overall, if I had to pick a loser from the 12-bottle variety pack, this one would probably be it. Their porter isn't far behind though. The Pilsner and English Style Ales are the winners out of the case.

Amber colour with a light head, has a very light pine smell. Taste is of light pine and citrus notes. This beer is much lighter than most IPAs I've tried. Not a good beer would not buy again.
