Not a bad beer. Nothing great either. A 24oz can is 1.59 and a 12 pack is 10.99. For that price it's worth a try. Not much taste to this beer..kinda a metallic aftertaste. Looks very light brown..feel is pretty light. Not bad in a pinch trying to catch a buzz.

Light smooth taste another good session beer. Slightly more carbonated than I like but overall still a good beer. Would definitely recommend on price alone.

I definitely prefer this to most any macro brews. It's a cheap, very drinkable, overall decent beer. Not heavy at all because of the honey, although the honey flavor obviously doesn't come through. Love the price and drinkability.

Look: not brown or honey but in between. I think it's a good colour. Head dissipates pretty fast.
Aroma: neither here nor there. No hop. Not particularly honey,-scented. Smells like a decent American Standard, I guess.
Taste - pleasant and the honey is noticeable in flavor but not in alcohol burn (I've made my own mead and know how easily that can hit a high ABV). I think it's tasty but I'm a Genesee fan these days. Not too corny (like Cream Ale), not just malt sweet (like regular Genesee). Easy drinking.
Feel: not bitter in the least, clean finish.
Overall - a really good 85¢ beer. 4.5% ABV so sessionable. Beats bland Bud/Coors by a mile. Easily worth the price.

I might just retire to Rochester. Beer, baseball and hockey. Short drive to Buffalo for NFL games. Lake effect snow. What the hell. .

Brown pour, looks decent, head dies very fast on it before you can really get a measurement or feel for it. Mild and light brown. No hopping evident in the nose, but there is a pleasant sweetness to it.

Taste also seems to be lacking hop characteristics, the carbonation even is lower thereby contributing to that lacking aspect. The sweetness dominates, needs to be offset a little better by something. Too much honey. Too much sweetness.

Not super sweet despite detectable honey/malt/maple syrup notes in smell and taste. Could probably use some more bittering balance though. Funky aftertaste that I can't quite place and don't really care for; another review called it "metallic" but I don't get that, it's more "residual malt" or something. Smell is better than taste, as not overpowered with honey etc. Drinkable but not going to be a favourite.

Let me just start by saying that this beer was intended to be drank out of the can. I poured a little bit in a glass to get an idea of its colour. It pours a light copper colour, barely darker than a Bud or Miller. The foam fizzles out in a matter of seconds and there is no lacing.
The nose consists of brown sugar, honey, cheap pale malts, and corn. Lots and lots of corn. When it's ice cold the corn hides but if you let it warm up...you've been warned. I do not detect any hops at all.
The taste is surprisingly decent. There is a Canadian maple syrup / brown sugar / honey and malt flavor that is smoothe and not overpowering. It is not overly sweet either, just enough for you to want to take another swig. There is only a trace presence of bittering hops. The mouth feel is very light. Only a low amount of carbonation coupled with an above average thickness nets this beer a silky smooth character.
Overall I like it every once in awhile, or when I'm broke. It's a nice change of pace, and it's 99¢. Just try it.

Extremely smooth for a lager, and not too sweet with the honey addition, this beer is light bodied with an oddly metallic after-taste. But as a Western New York native, I know that it is often the best option at some local bars.

Pours a brownish/red
smells a sweet honey malty
taste is a smooth, light honey sweet with a little malt, a slight bite at end.
Smooth easy going down. Could drink multiplies in one seating.
I would drink this again, definitely better than the normal , coors/millers/bud beers

Poured from 12 oz bottle into mug. Pours a dark, attractive clear brown with a nice white washy head.
Smells of malt, honey and some hops.
Tastes like the nose, honey and malt with a little bitterness on the back end.
Mouthfeel is crisp and nice. Mildly carbonated.
Overall, pleasant tasty sweet lager.

Admittedly it was the word brown rather than honey that caught y eye.

Nice enough brownish, reddish sort of brew. Light texture and flavor, little hops, Pretty much a bland effort that doesn't match the promise of the label. Not bad, just unoffensive.

Ticker brew at best. Buy it cheap and serve it cold.

Pours a golden honey color with a finger head that leaves nice lacing, beautiful carbonation.
Not a lot on the smell, typical adjunct lager malt, some apple, mustiness, honey.
Taste follows with malt, light honey, bready malt, finishes with a whiff of hops.
Mouthfeel is full, creamy, reminds me of Genesee cream ale.
Overall not a bad choice for the price given its competitors, I'm looking at you bud/miller/coors.

Smelled sweet, and that's about it. Dark red/brown color. Head doesn't stick around for long on this one. Tasted sweet. I'd have this again, as it's pretty good.

Look - nice, clear honey brown color, small head that dissipates quickly
Smell - mild, sweet smell. almost no scent of hops
Taste - tastes like weak beer sweetened with honey, no bitterness
Feel - nice carbonation, thin mouthfeel
Overall - this is not to my taste at all. Sweet beer doesn't necessarily sound bad, but it's not working for me. In fact, I think I'll pour this out and try something else.

it could use a little more flavor but it still tastes good. there's virtually no smell at all. it's on the thin/light side so it's easy to drink a lot of. it's also cheaper than bud/coors/miller and i'd rather drink this over those three any day.

I'd say for the price this is a grate beer, Only $15 for a 30 rac of these, But for some reson the 6 pack bottles are $7.99. Don't know what's up with that.. If you want the cheapest beer you can get this is the one to get, Better than PBR and about the same price

Have always bought this in bottles, but saw Fry's carries tallboys for $2 and picked one up.

L- Pours a deep, fittingly honey/amber color with a thick inch of head that dissipates quick. Nice looking lager.

S - Not much to the nose. Some malt and honey. Nothing bitter or hoppy.

T - Starts and ends malty sweet. No trace of hops, but not overpoweringly sweet like you'd get from a cider or hard lemonade...which might not say much. Maybe a good starter beer if you're trying something different.

F - Light-to-medium body. Thin mouthfeel. Plenty of carbonation to give a bite to the sweetness. Very drinkable/gulpable.

O - Props to my hometown CNY area for producing something you can get just about anywhere. A decent, cheap session beer. Just don't want to drink too many in one session or you get a sugar high.

Probably the beer that got me interested in beer.
I sought this beer out only to find it on tap about 16 years ago.
Loved it.. even craved it.

Fast forward 2014.... Not the same beer, Honey finish is gone and its now just a below average lager.
I'm guessing bigger breweries bought them out.

Very disappointed.

Pretty disappointing. I expected a sweeter newcastle, however this was not the case. Poured a very light bronze with white head that didn't last. Smell was sweet malt, maybe some corn. Taste was very sweet with a bit of honey and a weird after flavor that I couldn't quite place. Overall a very thin sweet beer that I would pass on again.

This beer is very sweet and easy to drink. I was actually expecting worse tried it only for review sake.

Appearance: Pours clear light brown with a quick fade whit head that lea a spotty frothy cap and moderate lace.

Smell: Sweet sugary syrupy malt and honey.

Taste: Crisp and light with and approachable with a touch of sticky honey flavor and grain, malt and a light grass hop.

Mouthfeel: Thin light body with a bit too much carbonation but bearable.

Drinkability: I really wouldn't want to drink too many of these there are soooo many better drews.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle to a pint glass.

A: Clear, Deep golden with a 1 finger off-white head that fades quickly, leaving a thin white ring around the glass.
S: Not much going on here. Standard domestic beer yeasty smell. White bread. Hint of honey.
T: Light and crisp bready malt. Slightly sweet. Virtually no hop presence. Honey really isn't there in the taste either. Twinge of yeast also.
M: Light. Very crisp finish.
O: This is the most drinkable beer I've had in a while. Very light, but refreshing. I have no doubt this would be a great beer for barbecues, or with burgers. Very good for a mass-produced domestic beer.

Appearance - Clear amber color, with no visible carbonation. 1 finger width foamy head that doesn't last long.

Smell - Slight sweet smell with a hint or roasted malts.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, not a lot of carbonation.

Taste - Light on taste, slightly sweet. Nothing else of real note.

Overall - Rating this beer was odd because it wasn't a bad beer it just wasn't a good beer. It was ok. Nothing really stands out.
