Black as tar with a dark brown creamy head. Nose is very chocolate and roasted grains. Bourbon vanilla is medium assertive in the nose. Body is full, rich and creamy with light carbonation. Flavor profile makes this one - tons of chocolate and overwhelming bourbon tones and character - some may say too much - I say wonderfully balanced but you better like bourbon or you won't like this one. Rich bourbon finish. This is one for bourbon lovers for sure.

Huge bourbon in the nose. Taste is sweet dark chocolate, caramely bourbon and a hint of smoky barbeque char. Some alcohol heat. I think a little age will make this world class. Very good.

Thanks to HOPTOMIC_BOMB for this 22 oz. bottle which has, inexplicably, been sitting in the fridge for a couple of months. Why? Chocolate? Bourbon? Stout? TRIPLE_CHOCOLATE? Split with my wife.

The pour is black & frightening. The slight head fizzes like Alka-Seltzer, & vanishes before I can even set the bottle down. I’ve had infected stouts that sounded just like that, & my wife could hear it ten feet away. Nose is all chocolate, no funk. That’s a fine sign, right there.

Last Rites reminds me that there needs to be some innovation in the candy industry. Bourbon Hershey’s? Gin Peppermint Patty? Oooh, Tequila Kit Kat. Back to the beer: this is pure chocolate, & the real thing, not the sickly sweet nonsense that brewers sometimes try to pass off as “chocolate”. Wonderful chocolate penetration is backed by a lovely kick of bourbon, vanilla leaning into white chocolate, heavy cream, with a surprisingly light touch of heat considering the 16% ABV. Smooth, thick, silky sipper. If one failed to see the ABV on the label, one might end up face down in the shag. And not in a good way.

Bloody hell. I have no idea why I traded for this beer, other than it I really wanted the Huna that the BOMB was offering up, &, well, chocolate. Glad I did. Excellent beer that is kicking at the glass ceiling of the elite.

Poured from a bottle into a glass. Drank super chocolate bourbon, tasted like 6 percent abv. This is a beer that you should check out and deserves to be in the top 250

This bourbon barrel aged triple chocolate stout is top notch.

Nearly black in color, perfectly carbonated with a thin medium brown head that dissipates quickly, this beer looks as good as it smells.

Smell is very bourbon forward with a slight dark chocolate aroma. As close to to perfect as it gets.

Taste is bourbon forward as expected. Not too sweet. Some lingering chocolate flavor. A little boozy, but not as much as I would have expected from a 16% beer.

Mouthfeel is silky and not to viscous.

Overall this beer is delicious. I can't believe the beers this place is putting out. I can't wait to have this beer again.

Was blown away by this one... the triple chocolate does this beer wonders and blends very well with the bourbon and the base stout. This beer opened my eyes to Ironfire Brewing!

First sip thoughts: Outstanding, but virtually a BCBS clone with a tad extra in the cocoa notes. Looks like a stout: black.

Smells like a warm Ghirardelli dark chocalate brownie with lots of raisin and a caramel bourbon glaze

Super smooth and alcohol presence is low. Barrel presence is über high with bourbon everywhere. Dark fruits , chocolate, raisin, and already tastes "old" in a good way.

Silky and velvety droplets longingly caress the palate slowly: undulating with a barely legal warm enveloping dark moistness. Oops, got a little carried away. Don't tell my wife.

$25 a bomber- seems high. It's an outstanding beer, but still high. You won't be let down

Monster of a beer, had to trade for this sucker, did not disappoint. Sat out post thanksgiving, just above room temperature when had, huge huge nose, tons of dark dried fruit and sweet vanilla. Taste is of dark dried fruits and massive chocolate and slight coffee, drinks real well, nice thick mouth-feel! Very very similar to Black Tuesday, but with a chocolaty twist. Have not popped my chocolate rain yet, but I'm guessing this is pretty equal in all facets, maybe even above, as the 16% drinks nice and easy.

Definitely an up and comer, happy I made the effort to acquire. Easily a top 100 beer as of this review.

A: jet black. Darkness that could devour your soul. Reddish tan head. Thin like an event horizon.

S: bourbon. Bitter chocolate. Chocolate syrup. Slight hint of vanilla. Dark candied fruits. Some raspberries also. Smells like the alchemist luscious.

T: Holy shit! Wow. That was wayyyy better than expected.
Sweet brown sugar. Bourbon essence. 72% dark chocolate bar. Blackberries, raspberries. Raspberry cream dark chocolate valentines day candy. There is a balance between the sweetness, fruitiness, and bitterness that is perfected in a way I have rarely experienced. Booze at the end.

F: chewy. Syrupy. Creamy. Fully Coates the palate. Sweet almost tartness lingers on the taste buds. Barely any carbonation.

O: this beer lived up to the gaudy ratings it's been receiving IMO. Sweet boozy balanced all done with near perfection. This is worthy of the term World Class. Bravo

22 ounce bottle poured into a snifter

A: Pours pitch black with a mocha colored head, minimum head retention, slight lacing, head was full and creamy, low carbonation, looks like motor oil.

A: Bourbon, toasted coconut, lots of chocolate, roasted malts, burnt oak, huge aromas, alcohol does come through pretty strong, bourbon bomb.

T: Bourbon, sweet chocolate, burnt vanilla and caramel, toasted oak, finish is bourbon and chocolate, hints of dark coffee, some heat from the alcohol but overall amazingly drinkable and smooth, very balanced.

M: Like drinking maple syrup, very thick, creamy, smooth mouthfeel, amazing mouthfeel.

O: Wow, very impressed, lots of flavors, tons of aroma, I don't think I've ever tasted a beer with such a high ABV that is so drinkable. This ranks up there with some of my favorite bourbon barrel aged stouts, a new yearly purchase.

Love love this beer!!
Pours inky black with a thin but decent mocha head. Smells of big bourbon and chocolate with hints of vanilla and some coconut. The taste is awesome, lots of chocolate, little bit of coconut, and bourbon. It drinks insanely well for being 16%, almost dangerously so. It reminds me of the bourbon county brand stout with more chocolate and even more balance. Perfect amount of chocolate without getting too sickly sweet although I fear may fade a bit with time, but I'm going to cellar one just to see what happens. Definitely worth snagging if you can. Great bomber to split with someone as drinking a whole one will leave you pretty sloshed lol.

Smooth, silky, chocolate flavor explosion of epic proportions. Booziness is not overpowering which would be expected at 16%, which makes it all the more enjoyable.

I picked up a bottle of this being a little skeptical because of the $24.99 bottle price as well as Ironfire being a small local brewery. With that being said, this beer is absolutely amazing. Very thick and creamy mouthfeel, intense chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon flavor is present throughout this beer. Kudos to Ironfire, this is a killer beer! Hands down better than Chocolate Rain (and it's a fraction of the price). I'm lucky no one knows about this beer yet, I stocked up today!

This beer is absolutely rediculous! Rich and chocolaty and you don't even realize your drinking a 16% alc/vol beer until about midway. This is the strongest beer I've had to date and it is surprisingly very drinkable for how heavy it is. Had to go to the actual brewery to pick up a bottle of this but if you see it elsewhere get it, you won't be disappointed! All of ironfires beers are very good.

WOW!!! This is the strongest beer I've had to date and it is surprisingly very very drinkable for how heavy it is. It is very thick and creamy mouthfeel, intense chocolate, vanilla, stone fruit, and bourbon flavor is present throughout this beer. Super smooth and alcohol presence is low. Barrel presence is extremely high with bourbon everywhere. If I could give it a higher rating I would.
