One of my go to beers , I don't believe in session beers because I'll drink anything any time. But Synner has such rad hop flavor and aroma don't fade on my enjoyment bottle after bottle!!

Clear light amber in the pint shaker. A decent thin foam and lots of spritz in the mouth. This is another one for serious hopaholics.
An interesting combination of perfumey and earthy. Flowery nose and a dirty finish. Light, resiny, and sharp with a harsh ending. Like pine needle tea steeped until it's really bitter. There is maybe some popcorn and crackers standing in for malt flavors, but it's really hard to tell since the hops totally overwhelm any other flavors that may be here. On the positive side, it's quite a clean brew, it's just so one-dimensional and obsessive. I wish I knew what that crazy hop is.
On tap at Slater's 50/50 in San Diego.

On tap at Ironfire Brewing Company in Temecula, CA.
Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a foamy white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and slight onion and garlic hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and onion and garlic hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but the hops used in this one are a bit too vegetal for my taste.

I've been hearing about this brewery for a few months. This is the first bottle I've seen from them.
A: Pours a clear golden color with a one finger white head. Leaves some nice tracks of lace down the glass.
S: Huge citrusy hop aroma right off the pour. I could smell the hops from a few feet away, which was awesome. Some overripe pineapple and mango, caramel and a bit of biscuity malt. Smells pretty fantastic.
T: A big piny hit of hops right away. The middle brings a pretty big wave of bready malt, which mellows the hops a bit. A bit of lemon zest and grapefruit pith as well as aspirin and hop resin show up on the finish. Finishes a touch too bitter for me, but this is a really good pale. I'd get it again.

22oz bottle format
Notes taken on 08/02/13 with my SN Balloon glass
A: Pours a rather dull caramel color with blurred visibility. Soapy finger of off-white head and some sudsy stick clinging to the glass on the way down.
S: Bountiful pine aromas. Stingy and pungent. There is some musky grapefruit and light tropicals as well with undercurrents of melon fruit and earthy botanicals. Not much malt detected minus some more sweetened citrus character. Pretty nice nose and hoppier than I was expecting.
T: Hop forward with evergreens and some lemony citrus. I get a bit of tangerine fruit as well with a more herbal finish. The malt is almost fully restrained here. A very dry cracker base with just some light sugary sweetness. The beer is plenty hoppy but not super bitter and alcohol is a non factor. Rather smooth balance to it with a nice light crisp dry hoppy bite.
M: Very light and near bone dry with a upper level of carbonation and moderate hop bitterness. Very crisp on the finish with minimal residual linger.
D: This was better than I was expecting. Hop focused with restrained malt character. Nice balance overall with a light crisp body and dry finish.
Very crushable stuff.

Purchased this beer in a 22 oz bottle from a local "convenient" store that I hadn't been in yet. I got this and their IPA. The store actually seems to have the best craft beer selection I've come across in my little town. Had previously gone to the brewery to have their beers, but their tasting room wasn't open yet.
This beer poured a clear golden yellow and a 1 1/2 - 2" persistent white head, and good lacing down the glass. The aroma was resinous and piney balanced by citrus and malt. ...A good start. The flavor started with pine but was balanced by citrus and malt. This beer had a solid medium mouth feel with nice carbonation. Some sweetness but it was balanced nicely by the hop bitterness.
Honestly, this is closer to an IPA vs. a pale ale...even a west coast pale ale. The lower alcohol made it more drinkable ("sessionable" perhaps?). I liked this beer and preferred it to their IPA. I would buy this again and would like to have it on tap to compare.

One of my favorites from this brand new brewery. I think this is more of an IPA than their 51/50 IPA. Lots and lots of hop aroma and flavor with very little bitterness. Nice color and mouth feel as well.
I think they should raise those IBUs to IPA levels and make it a true IPA. It might be a little too hoppy for some tastes who want a traditional pale.
