From the growler shared by a friend of mine visiting my area. Sampled on July 4, 2014.

It pours pale yellow with a white fizzy head and excellent clarity.

Corn grits can be found in the aroma along with a breaded malt character. Clean, crisp hops. A lot like a standard everyday lager.

The body is light to medium.

The taste has a corny and malty character like the aroma but there is most certainly a bitter bite kicking in at the end and lingering. Corn from Iowa makes total sense.

Good American style lager. Medium to medium light body, sweet with a hint of bitter on the finish. Overall an easy drinking beer that's great for summer days.

not sure if this is the right listing for the blue corn con chile beer, if all of the blue corn lagers are also done with chilies, or if that is a special edition, but either way, the blue corn con chile lager is pretty amazing beer. it tastes like a fancy tortilla chip dipped in a medium spicy salsa. its amazing how the flavor of the corn comes through, toasted and dried, even roasted and salted like a chip might actually be, the rest of the malt is light enough to let this flavor really drive the beer, and without the peppers i could see this being an insanely refreshing bu also very unique glass of beer. with the peppers, its a little more than i want to drink a ton of, although i do like the balance between the corn in the mash and the chile, which is as flavorful as it is spicy, but clean enough that it doesnt stick around and burn me. not hot in the throat or anything. it also somehow quenches the thirst it creates from the heat, its like a corn chip with salsa and a sup of beer all in one. pretty ambitious and well executed beer here, probably the most out there style i had from these guys. neat stuff!

Beer Review #700. Sampled last night on 9/12/15 and comes in a 32-ounce growler for $9.69 at Hy-Vee over across the river in Council Bluffs, Iowa last week. Drank just half of it as I promised my friend the other half that he will drink tonight when he comes over. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees in my beer cooler and poured in to a 16 ounce "ROCK BOTTOM MUG CLUB" tall handled-glass stein.

Brew pours a clear lighter golden-yellow in color with a good 4-finger white foamy/fizzy head that finally settled down to still a good 1-finger head. A decent amount of lacing was seen after each sip that stuck to the sides of the glass. Aroma is of grains and corn for the most part. Pretty much is said for the taste as well. Very smooth and goes down easily with a crisp clean finish. No bitterness at all. Does the blue corn taste any different than regular yellow corn? Maybe just a bit. Lighter to medium-bodied. Overall, a great tasting brew.

Pours a crystal clear lighter golden color with white head. Cereal grains, corn specifically on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes clean, with a little sweetness.
