Easily the best beer bar in the high country, and despite its having only 32 taps. Beers are well chosen, rotate often, and frequently include great beers that no one in the surrounding area gets.

A nice place in the mountains of western North Carolina with good food, good beer, and very friendly people. The place was very clean and the light wood decor was nice.

Had a mountain lodge feel with lots of varnished rough hewn pine for the walls, bar, tables, chairs, stools, etc. There was a couple of outdoor seating areas as well as a a couple of bars and a couple of dining rooms. There were a couple of TVs over the bar and in the main dining area that were all showing World Cup games (with no volume) and music playing at a reasonable volume. It was fairly busy for a weekday mid-afternoon and had a good range of clientele.
Beers were well poured into proper glassware (pint and tulip as well as tasters) with a reasonable amount of head and at a decent temperature. The only knock is that the glasses were cool (not frozen). Beers were also available for growler fills and crowlers.
Service was friendly and attentive as well as knowledgeable about the beers that were available.
I did not try any of the food on my visit.

Was highly impressed to have such a nice variety of selections for a place that is so literally the middle of nowhere. Our waitress was terrible, but other than that, this was a really nice experience. I did a beer flight to sample a few things I've been meaning to try and then topped it off with a Old Rasputin nitro that has already made some jealous. Had spinach-artichoke appetizer, greek salad for dinner, and Boardwalk delight (vanilla ice cream with funnel cake sticks) for desert, and all was pretty yummy. If I make it back up that way at meal time, I'd be more than happy to go anther round.

What a gem of a place in the mountains of NC. Every time I have stopped in the beer selection has been mind blowing. Not the same ole same ole. With over 30 taps the craft selection is amazing. This place rivals any place I have been in larger cities. They do focus on NC breweries, some that you otherwise would not hear of. The owner can usually be found on the floor meeting and greeting and several times a week you can walk in during the day and watch them brew on their small Brewmagic system. They are currently only brewing small batches so they are not able to keep their beer on tap long as they sell out quickly.
The food is amazing and you can tell the wait staff loves to work there. Oh did I mention, they have 2 full service bars in addition to two large dining areas that can handle 150+ hungry and thirsty customers.
If you are in the area this is a must stop
