A - Poured copper with a large head.
S - Malts are most present on the scent.
T - Its got plenty of carmel malt and hints of wheat. A mild bite on the bitter finish.
M - Medium body with higher carbonation. A bit dry on the finish.
O - A traditional AIPA with good flavor.

L: Brilliant chestnut, 2” foam cap dissipates to ½” good lace, very slight tan tint on the cap
S: the nose is floral earthy hops over biscuit, the hops have some resin backed by citrus rind.
T: Starts with a rich creaminess and then the malt comes through with some biscuit and it finishes with a citrus rind hop finish.
F: Medium full body, medium carbonation, it is very soft and creamy
O: A decent IPA that is a little with a bitterness that is a little too pithy.

Purchased at a gas station just outside of Mackinaw City MI. for $3.00 on a 20oz can. Served at 5deg C in a plastic cup

A- Opens well and pours a 1" high white head that lasts for nearly 4mins before film out. Nice dark gold colour and filtered clear

S- Lots of hops. Good malt. Not much else but it's crisp and fresh. You can tell there are a couple of hops in here

T- Hops. Lots of them. Centennial and Cascade for sure. The "C" hopped brews are typically DIPA's and heavy but this one was pretty mellow. Lost of alcohol at over 7% but not on the tongue. Grapefruit galore

M- Dry

O- Very nice grapefruit brew. Will buy again on sight if I see it. Nice unrated brew.

Food Pairing

This wonderful little brew went very well with....... The crappy hamburger I got at Wendy's. Better Wendy's then Burger King or McCrap's but at least it has something to it LOL

I picked up a four pack of Petoskey's Mind's EyePA a couple days ago for $10.89 at Boyne Country Provisions. I was looking for some beers I couldn't get locally and I've been wanting to check out this beer ever since I heard it was canned, so lets see how it goes. No visible canning date, but the mobile canning truck was there last month so it can't be too old. Poured from a 16oz can into an imperial pint glass.

A- The can looks decent, it has a nice clean look to it, but it's not too eye catching. It poured a slightly hazy burnt orange/amber color that took on some bright ruby hues when held to the light with two fingers worth of light tan head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and left some nice patchy lacing behind. This is a nice looking beer, the color was a little dark for the style, but the head and lacing were pretty nice.

S- The aroma starts off with a medium amount of sweetness followed by a medium amount of hops that impart some piney, resiny, and earthy hop aromas with some light floral and citrus aromas in the background. Up next comes the malts which impart a light grainy and brown bready aroma with some light caramel malt aromas in the background. The aroma was decent, nothing really stuck out that much, it was pretty average..

T- The taste seems to be pretty similar to the aroma and it starts off with a lower amount of sweetness followed by some hops that just impart a lighter earthy, piney, and resiny like aroma followed by a medium amount of malts that imparted some grainy, brown bread, and light caramel malt flavors with slight bit of doughy yeast in the background. On the finish there's a higher amount of low bitterness with a resiny hop and malty aftertaste. The taste was just ok, the hops weren't as highlighted as I would've liked.

M- Fairly smooth, clean, a little crisp, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel was nice and worked well with this beer.

Overall I wasn't impressed with this beer and I thought it was a very average IPA, the hops didn't stick out as well as they should have with a low amount of bitterness and just too much balance for the style. This beer had ok drinkability, it was fairly smooth, clean, and not filling, but the flavors couldn't hold my attention and one is enough for me, no need to drink another one. What I liked the most about this beer was the mouthfeel it was pretty nice. What I liked the least about this beer was the flavor, it wasn't as bright as I would have liked with a pretty boring hop profile. I wouldn't buy this beer again, I wish I could have got a single instead of a four pack, I wouldn't really recommend this IPA, it's very average. All in all I wasn't a fan of this beer, it's not a memorable IPA, nothing about it really sticks out. This didn't make for the best first impression of Petoskey Brewing Company, better luck next time guys.
