A: This poured a clear dark copper with a little tan head.
S: It smelled like sweet caramel and nutty malt, with some toasted oak and smoke.
T: It tasted like charred oak and smokey barley, with some sweet caramel and nutty malt. It had a clean earthy and sweet aftertaste.
M: It was watery with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was a nice whiskey beer, with interesting scent and taste. The body was ok, but the finish was really smooth, So it was quite easy to drink. Probably not for aging, but really fun to try fresh.

A - Poured a 22oz into Bells anniversary pint. Light copper, crystal clear. Small ivory head that hangs out around the edge for the duration
S - Well, malt. Peaty malt, caramel malts
T - Surprisingly smooth. A burst of malt, and a quick dry chalky finish with some dates or raisins. Some burn in the back of the mouth. A bit simple, but tasty and well crafted.
M- Carbonated appropriately. smooth.
Not sure this is would be considered a wee heavy, but a clean and simple scotch. Not my favorite style, nor overly interesting for the style and hence I'm not certain I'll go back. But if you like a scotch ale, take a trip to Scotchtown.
