Appearance: Arrives at the bar clear and copper colored with a modest head that leaves a few shards behind
Smell: Grapefruit and orange peel, with hints of caramel and maple
Taste: Caramel and orange peel forward, with grapefruit adding bitterness to the middle; maple sugar tones appear, after the swallow, with an oaky finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: An interesting twist on an IPA with the maple sugar character

A: Clear, amber, but with a thin head that faded and left little lacing.
S: Hops dominates, as expected, with citrus and floral aromas. There's also some bready aromas in the background.
T: Moderately sweet malt, with biscuit and grass notes. The hops takes over quickly, and although there's a hint of tart, citrusy flavor, it's mostly one-dimensional bitterness.
M: Fairly thin on the palate, and carbonation is anemic. There's a faint hint of booziness, and a touch of dryness in the finish.
O: Not a bad beer, but given the number of really good IPA's out there, this one's not worth revisiting for me.

A solid, well-balanced IPA that honors the troops with an intense citrus hop bite.
