Notes / Commercial Description:
This authentic Czech Pils is brewed by the famous Samson Brewery. This is a full bodied beer, rich in Saaz hops and brewed following a 200 year old tradition by Czech brew mas-ters. This is a crisp, refreshing beer with less CO2 making it less filling but packed with fla-vor. A strong pale malt quality is evident in the taste profile.

Pours very dark for the style, basically amber. No real head,

Smells like a stale pils. Pretty good, but still old. Ripe fruit, light hops.

Tastes like a good combination between stale grain and light hops. Earthy finish.

It's old. It's decently brewed. It's kind of a classic when it comes to this particular style. It's a Euro brand that Euro people don't particularly care about. That doesn't mean it's a bad beer when it leaves the brewery, just that it's a not particularly good beer once it hits your shelf.

Pours a dark gold with almost no finger into my glass. Sweet with little, if any hops in the nose. Sweet, grainy, skunked taste (thanks green glass!) that certainly qualifies as foreign. Lame ginger ale finish. I'm sure it's a looker when fresh. Not in this form unfortunately.

Just wrote a long review and it somehow disappeared, so writing a shorter one again...

Fairly complex and well-balanced overall flavour...strong maltiness with citrus notes and mild hops.

Compared with Staroparen and Budwar, much less flowery and heavier. A fairly good overall beer/pilsner, just nothing unique to make it stand out.

Bottle pour. Golden color with a half a finger head. Aroma has grain and grassy hops. Flavor follows aroma. It was basically okay. There are much better Czech pils out there than this one.

Hazy gold color with white cap and good lacing.

Fairly mild aroma of sweet malt and spicy hops.

Taste is straight on malt, rather good, a bit substantial, with spicy, floral hops. This take on Pils has more substance than some other Euro lagers I've sampled yet it still doesn't come across as particularly rich, rather a nicely spiced malt beer.

Texture is medium with less carbonation than others of this ilk.

Overall it's a very presentable Checz Pils that is mildly flavorful, mildly spicy, low enough ABV to serve in a large mug and wash down schnitzel with spaetzle served in a rich sauce.

Slightly turbid yellow-gold body, white head that fades to a ring with dots of lace. Nose is bready, some skunk, corn, and grass. Flavor is also grass and grit, corny, and with a bit of skunk, but a bit of spice and mild hop bitterness comes through. Mildly sweet. Body is easily drinkable, gassy but not overly so.
A good pilsner, based in that adjunct-dirty malt flavor with some bitterness to balance it out. As basic as the flavors sound, this would be a great summer pounder.

A: The beer is crystal clear dark yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of skunk are present in the nose, presumably from the green bottle.
T: The taste follows the smell and starts off with a little funkiness and has notes of mineral water and hints of grainy malts. There is a light amount of carbonation.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and is a little clean with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The skunkiness imparted by the green bottle in both the smell and taste is a little detracting.

Looks are just average. Not exceptionally bright and there is a slight something floating around in there. Thinner head that did last well. Off white and very creamy. Color is gold with yellow undertones. Nose is breaddy pils malt. Soft baked bread with a golden crust on it and sweetly herbal hops. A little spice and pepper. but mostly cool weeds. taste is good malty no real bite from bubble so it's soft in the finish. It has a bit of sweetness int eh finish as well. It's czech style so the bitterness is soft. The malt is slow on the palate though not crisp. Flavors are good though. Clean, no diacetyl, no dms, no fruit. Lgith sulfur saves teh moutghfeel and the aftertaste and lets the malt linger. Not bad.
