I poured this one from a 22oz brown bomber bottle into a 20 oz imperial pint glass.

A= This ale poured a dark gold with a slight haze and a big slightly off white head. Nice retention down the glass.

S= Great combo of Belgian yeast character and American hops. The hops are a little more "dank" than I generally prefer in this style, but it all works nonetheless.

T= in each sip, this started off hoppy and dank, then moved to a chewy malt presence and then just as I was about to think it was heavy, the Belgian character broke through with esters and a nice spicy phenolic pop, and then it finished nice and dry. Quite a ride in every sip, but also very pleasant.

MF= Medium bodied with a crisp/appropriate carbonation level.

D=. This is one of the better American interpretations of a hoppy Belgian. I think, for my tastes, this would score even higher if the Belgian yeast character pushed more esters and slightly less phenolic forward, but that's quibbling because I loved this beer.

Hazy and deep golden color. An impressive billowing fluffy white head that's persistent.

Fairly muted aroma. For a Belgian IPA it's not very hoppy nor spicy. Faint banana, grass. Biscuit dominates.

Flavor is dialed back, too. Band aid phenol, clove, grass, and biscuit.

Mouthfeel is full, soft, with moderate carbonation.

A decent beer and easy to swallow but lacks umph in flavor and smell.

Served in a shaker pint glass at SmallBar - Division.

Continuing the bachelor party fun with a new Belgian-style IPA from the Lake Effect crew. This stuff pours a hazy brass-gold topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises mild orange zest, sharp greens, mild grass, clove, a hint of banana peel, and a vague smattering of biscuit. The taste brings in more of the same, with the grass and orange peel-borne bitterness taking a stronger hold than before. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. Overall, a pretty nice BPA, a bit less spicy than I would prefer, but a solid drink nonetheless.

Cruisin’ For A Brewsin’ is a Belgian-style IPA brewed with Centennial and Cascade Hops and possesses a mash bill consisting of Wisconsin Pilsner malt and white wheat. In the glass, a roasted jack-o-lantern orange hue is ghoulishly cloudy and is shackled with a cobweb thick head with great retention. Bold aromatics scream into the nostrils notes of honey comb, freshly rolled sod, zesty orange peel, clove, pine, shredded wheat cereal, orange blossom tea, and slight caramel. Earthy, spicy Belgian yeast esters sink their fangs into your palate and refuse to let go. Despite a sweeter aroma, an aggressive hop bitterness dries the beer out like a withering mummy. High in citrus notes, the bitter mummy puts up a great fight in its epic battle against the yeasty vampire. The finish is very long and very dry, as stubborn as a zombie not willing to lay to rest.
