This place is singles heaven!
The appearance of this place is quite rustic for Boulder standards, but don?t let that sway you it has something offer. The selection of singles is exceptional , and reasonably priced. They offer a 10% discount for 6 or more if you pack them up in one of their white six-pack carriers. This is a beer reviewer?s paradise. The variety is good (microbrews and imports), but they fall short in the Belgian (and German) department. There is a selection of 750ml Belgians in a cooler toward the back of the store that is fair, but not exceptional. Some of the Prices for six-packs seemed a little high, but for the most part the prices were reasonable.

And they are gone. Not sure why they closed but it has been about 3 or more years ago I think. I was not into beer at the time but they were the best shop for wine for many miles.

This was the last shop I visited in Boulder and it had the best service. Maybe it was just my Mornin Delight shirt, but the guy was very helpful and knowledgeable. Solid selection on the shelves and possibly some hidden gems if you ask the beer guy.

One of the best stores in CO, hands down! The building from the outside is not very attractive, but the selection and staff make it a must stop. Every CO brew you could ever imagine. A very large selection of packaged beer with an unbelievable single and bomber section. Lots of Belgium and Import specialties, rare bottles, etc. The beer manager helps me out a lot and knows his stuff. They recently put up a "rare" beer case with specialty bottles on display. Recently grabbed RR Temptation, Pliny the Elder, 2012 Struise Pannepot, FW Velvet Merkin, Almanac Dogpatch Strawberry, Crooked Stave Origins, and Bruery Sucre Bourbon Barrel. Awesome store!

Just recently had the privilege of visiting Liquor Mart. The beer department could not be more knowledgeable (and attractive I might add! The beer dept. is filled with studs!) or offer a better selection. This place is pure perfection and heaven in the form of a liquor store.
HIGHLY recommended if you're into good prices, great selection and sexy beer department employees.

REcently i moved out of Boulder, but I used to live right by Liquor Mart. This store literally has anything in it that you could ever need, but you should be ready to pay a little bit extra for the convienance. However, the staff can at times be rude and unhelpful. I was at this store once with a friend of mine who aditted to having beer or two before we arrived and we were turned away at the register. We politely agreed to leave, and a man wiht a pony tail still grabbed my friend by his arm and fo4rced him out. I know the industry, and worked in a liquor store on the other side of town at the time and found this to be completely unacceptable. I havnt been back since.

Stopped by after a half day of hiking near Boulder.
This looks like your basic mega-liquor-mart, but happens to have a fantastic singles selection. A whole row of single beers, both 12oz and bombers. Lots of local and regional stuff. An OK European selection as well. Very impressive for an out-of-towner, with lots of Colorado and West Coast representation. An employee came over and helped me pick out a couple local options.

Overall this places isn't just focused on beer, there were a lot of people buying liquor and cases of Bud Light. But they do have a fantastic/huge selection and the employee I talked to knew his stuff. Certainly worth a stop if you're in the Denver/Boulder area.

One of the best things about Boulder. Very nice selection of 6 packs, bombers, and the best build your own 6 pack selection that I have come across in the state. If they carry the beer it is probably available as a single, just awesome IMO. And their beer selection is complete. Good chance that if the beer is carried in the market they will carry it. The building is older, not too large, but organized nicely. Service is fine, generally you need help you have to ask for it and seek it but the help is there to be found. Reasonably priced, on par with market prcies imo. My big complaint is that they don't have a Denver location.

This use to be a regular shopping stop when I lived in Longmont a few years ago. I still stop in regularly when I'm in town, about every other month. As beer merchants in Colorado go, you'll be hard to find any place that regularly out competes any others when it comes to price. Selection, however, is a different story. Local residents may not realize how good this place is when compared to others around the country. The bomber choices are phenomenal and while a build your own six may be pricey, there are few other places that offer the variety of singles (not to mention the advantage of getting to sample beers from styles from which I'm hesitant to buy a six). The service is usually good, depending on who is in that day. The biggest ding, as if it mattered, is the atmosphere. It still retains the old grocery store look and can feel a bit on the grungy side. Never the less, worth a visit if your in town.

Their prices are pretty good overall. Their warm bomber selection is pretty fantastic but has been falling off of late. Someone there isn't fighting hard enough. The single bottle selection is good if expensive. It's nice to be able to buy one beer to try instead of a whole six-pack. Never had much in the way of customer service there, I wander around all the aisles and have been asked for help maybe 1 time out of 5 trips. But the important thing is that they have a lot of beer, and that makes me happy!

The people who work here seem to genuinely know and appreciate their beer, which helps.

The selection is pretty strong, they carry most Colorado standards and I have found that with several beers that are more rare Liquor Mart is often the only place in Boulder to find them. Most recently I found a couple of Crooked Stave sours there that could not be found elsewhere. I have also snagged a bottle of Tactical Nuclear Penguin there for $82, a steal by my Chicago standards.

The mix six section is also pretty solid, although as several others have mentioned the individual beers are on the pricey side. Some of the bombers are also pretty high on the price spectrum.

If you need to get that tough to find bottle, or if you're in town and want to grab a mixed 6er or two of some local stuff, this is the place to be. If yo just want a 6-pack of some Oskar Blues or a bomber from Avery, check out something else.

So the selection is pretty nice and their singles collection is great but the prices are ridiculous. Thankfully they were doing promotion the day I went in so I just walked out with 4 beers for free. Most things were above normal price and some incredibly so. A few things were normal price. No great deals to be had. Alas selection, so I will probably use a coupon and do some shopping there one day soon. But only for things that are hard to find elsewhere.
The singles section was really great, but most things were one and a half times their normal price to two times, though you get 20 percent off when you buy 6 or more.

The best thing about this place was their singles selection. I found many smaller breweries here like Twisted Pine and the brewery in Castle Rock I can't think of right now... the building is an old sort of dingy place although that is not what I'm there for, really. I didn't receive much for service, but that might possibly be because the moment I walked in I walked to the beer section like a bear trying to get into a jar of honey. They might of figured I already knew just what I wanted and where to get it. While it seems you aren't going to find any more rare releases here than anywhere else, the bulk of regular releases of the smaller breweries make this stop for a traveler a MUST. My friend really likes it when I go on trips because he knows I would grab singles of everything I haven't tried (in the styles I like) and this is exactly the type of place that fits that bill.

Q. Nothing exceptional here, but still better than average. I didn't see anything out of date, but did see some rotational issues especially on their displays.

S. The service here was lacking. My buddy and I were there for nearly an hour between 10 and 11 AM on a Wednesday. We spent over $100 between the 2 of us, and never once were we asked if we needed any help.

S. The selection was great for me, as I was there to find things I can't get in Kansas. That's not to say that I didn't visit other stores in Colorado with better selection. The truth is we only went to this store because we had some time to kill. I was a little disappointed that they didn't seem to have any older vintage beers. I understand that freshness is important, but I like when stores maintain a section of vintage beers.

I have to admit, every time I visit Liquor Mart I am less impressed. I was initially awed by the sheer size and selection but soon realized there really isn't too much out of the ordinary. They may have the biggest selection but not necessarily the best in the area. Don't usually find too many rare beers here but they will have some harder to find brews when everyone else has run out. They have a dedicated beer staff, I have seen them but have never been approached by them. Prices are reasonable but I had to add an extra $ as they tend to be a little pricier than most other area stores. A bit of advice, expect to be disappointed if you're here near a big holiday. Stopped by to stock up for Memorial Day and it was so picked over I wound up going elsewhere, wasn't looking for anything too crazy either. Overall a big store with a good selection, just don't expect to walk out with anything too out of the ordinary.

Stopped here a while back.

Grungy looking place from the outside. Not much better on the inside. I was ignored by the "greeter" who sat in the entryway.

Overall selection is above average. A nice selection of imports and local craft brews. Lacking in the Belgians other than the usuals. Poor layout means you're always looking around another corner to see if there's something you missed.

Service is completely lacking. Person who checked me out was polite but that's about it.

Everything was reasonably priced but, then again, no exceptional deals.

Overall a good place to visit if you're in Boulder but there are far better places in the Fort Collins/Loveland area (Wilburs, Supermarkets, and LiquorMax).
