one of the best beers i have had in a long time. Most PB beers are not very good, but whatever Foolproof is doing to make this (Better?) version of their already great Raincloud, i want to know!

Beer feels like a nice porter going down, with a nice thickness to it.

Smells wonderful, with a small note of nuttiness like one would want in a PB beer.

Tastes like PB right from the start, and the aftertaste is a smelly blend of porters and nuttiness. Aftertaste is the best part is you truly feel like you had a PB beer, and an awesome Porter with some complex flavors.

Beer has a great look to it, although it does lack a thick creamy head, something that could add a "milkshake" ness to the drinking feeling. Imagine PB Raincloud on a Nitro tap would be just what the doctor ordered.

4.75/5 (not a 5 because i can never find it in store, only seen it on tap at Oktoberfest in Prov 2015).. so get some in the Southern MA stores guys!!

I absolutely adore PB, chocolate, coffee flavored stouts/porters, etc and this had possibly the best/most genuine PB flavor yet. Delicious!

Pours a dark brown with a nice brown head into my glass. The name was appealing but wondering if the taste will live up to it.

Rich and creamy upfront with light cocoa notes. Can't detect peanuts so they might be in the texture itself.

From reading other reviews, they mention a lack of peanut. I don't get that here. The mouthfeel is distinctly nutty in the background. It's also a little slick. Creamy.

Easygoing finish that lingers. Sweet and nutty.

I like this porter. It's something different for once.

Dark brown where light comes through on the very edges. Overflowing bar poured head. Leaves several rings of lace.

Dark chocolate and coffee are the predominant smells of this beer. I do not detect any peanut butter.

The tastes brings out a flavor that I could not recognize as peanut butter. In a word, subtle. Overall, this is a solid, and hoppy, porter. I think the PB brings in an interesting, but largely unidentifiable, flavor to increase the complexity. The body is fuller than most porters, but I might be noticing the subdued carbonation.

A very good porter that I would definitely order again.

Been meaning to give this one a shining review for a while. Seems as though it's quite well-liked by other BAs, which is good because it feels very well-made to me and has some of the deftest usage of peanut butter (or peanut butter extract) in any beer of the sort that I've had to date. I've bought several four-pack cans of this brew since it was released and I feel that alone is testimony to its quality, but I'll elaborate for the sake of posterity!

Hazy and dark/bordering-black with a tan head is how I'd described this beer's appearance, but it also laces very solidly (even with a few months on it at only 5.4%!). This is one of the darkest lower-alcohol porters/stouts I've ever seen and the retentive head definitely helps it maintain its brutal appearance.

Nose is cocoa and roast from the malts with a well-rounded peanut butter aspect that's definitely quite apparent. It feels like it's in the middle of the powdery, foundation-like, dry-roast-peanut filling of a Reese's cup and the oily, salty and more ostensibly-natural scent of, say, Teddy's peanut butter. There's something very satisfying about this nose, and I think it definitely has to do with how the traditional aspects (malts bringing out chocolate and roast "notes") meld with the adjunct aspects of the peanut butter flavor that's added. Great stuff here.

Flavor is layered with deep, dark cocoa and sticky peanut butter. These aspects work in tandem all the way until the conclusion of each sip to deliver a very consistent nutty and chocolate-y taste. There's something about the peanut butter flavor here that feels very real; definitely gives this points. You get the typical American-style porter notes of roast and slight coffee as well, but they're quickly dampened by the adjunct flavoring.

Feel is dry and dusty, though it initially seems to present as oily for the first half of each sip. There's an interesting transition on the palate here... feels like exactly when it becomes drier is also exactly when the peanut butter flavor starts to pop out. Not sure if one thing is symptomatic of the other or if it's a coincidence, but the way it flows is very unique.

I like this beer a lot, for the record. It is available as an affordable four-pack of 12 oz. cans (about $10) from most semi-local stores and it seems to not matter if it's 3-4 months old (this is from later 2015, I believe, though I've had fresher cans that were very similar) from when I buy it. Nice job, Foolproof. Hope you handle canning Backlash's stuff decently!

On tap at the Wooden Nickel in Burlington.

Looks like a porter - dirty motor-oil black with just a ring of bubbles.

Smells a bit roasty with just a hint of butter, no peanuts.

Taste is also mildly roasty and buttery with a very nice maple syrup-like sweetness. A subtle and soft bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel is a highlight - medium bodied, soft and smooth, low carbonation.

Overall, this is a pretty awesome porter. I can't taste peanuts like the server described, but there is a buttery character to the beer I ascribe to the peanut butter. Very enjoyable.

Dark, smells a small hint of peanut butter. First taste leaves you wondering. Second taste makes you think maybe.. Third taste has you sold. This is delicious as a stand alone beer unless you had a jelly sandwich. I have had on tap and in the can.. Still very good!! A must try!!

12 oz. can

Pours dark brown-black with a creamy tan foam head. Smells like peanut butter, milk chocolate roasted malts, some peanuts, coffee, caramel, toffee, with a hint of dark fruit and earthy grassy hops. Tastes like dark fruits, earthy grassy hops, some chocolate roasted malts, peanut butter, peanuts, toffee, with lingering caramel and coffee notes. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice peanut butter porter.

looks awesome poured into a glass.... smells like Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter cereal! very smooth, but with a slightly funky flavor although it is not as prevalent as other PB'ers like that Beaver Company in SD..... this PB flavor is way more authentic... overall, a very decent brew!
