The ultimate suburban brew, Backyahd is an aggressively hopped American IPA with a tantalizing hop aroma. The beer’s bitterness pairs perfectly with spicy foods coming straight off the grill. Enjoy it with friends, family, or whomever you choose. After all, it’s your Backyahd.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip. Purchased in Wakefield, RI a few days after receiving it, so it's super fresh.
A- Pours an ever so slightly hazy light golden body with a thick bubbly white head that reduces very slowly to some chunky, frothy foam that leaves some super thick lacing. Beautiful, a near picture perfect IPA.
S- Super fresh smelling. Very floral with citrus, honey, pine, and resin.
T- Pine and citrus rind sitting on a caramel malty backbone. Sticky hop and resin notes linger on the tongue for a few minutes.
M- Medium carbonation, medium body. Easy drinker.
I was pleasantly surprised with this new brewery's interpretation of the classic American IPA. It's quite flavorful and has a very good balance of hop zing and malt character. On a scale of tropical/fruity to resinous/piney, this would be on the resinous/piney side.
From the first smell to the last sip, this is a very enjoyable brew to put down. Well done, Foolproof.

[Original rating 2015-09-27] Draft at the PVD (Warwick) Sheraton bar. Pours hazy gold with a thin white head. Weak aroma, mostly metallic but there’s a little citrus and straw in there. Taste is mostly just bitter with a little earth. Not horrible but I won’t be having another.

I tried this at Cook Clarke's in Newport, Rhode Island. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that left a spotty lace. The scent had hop hints that included some citrus flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with some fruit notes present. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.
